Hey, I'm Victor! I am a strength-based, solution-focused clinical social worker with experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I have worked with diverse populations including people battling drug addiction, survivors of domestic violence, children and families involved with the child welfare system (including juvenile justice), adults involved in the criminal justice system, LGBT youth and adults, and unstably housed adults. My work with these different populations including anger management, parenting training, developing cognitive and behavioral skills for depression and anxiety, trauma focused counseling, relapse prevention, and resolving family problems. With teens, I work specifically on learning healthy ways to process situation that is going on in their lives as they grow into independent young adults.
Coming from a strengths based perspective, I primarily utilized a solution-focused approach to my work. Talking about the problems can feeling relieving, but I believe focusing on our resiliency and strengths to find solutions to our problems is equally important. I also utilized the cognitive behavioral approach because problems can cause negative thinking and developing adaptive strategies to manage distress.
Entering counseling is not an easy process – I know! But like our physical health, our mental health must be stable if we are to reach self-actualization and our fullest potential. While we do the work necessary for you to grow and heal, I offer a supportive space to you to speak your truth. I prioritize your concerns for each session with a goal of giving you the tools to move forward.

I like the way he listens to me.
Victor has been great. He’s helped me come up with ways that I can better communicate, given me outside perspective on things, and different approaches/solutions to my problems.
Victor was great with my shy son.
I wasn't sure what to expect on 'teen counseling' so I was a little bit intimidated to begin with considering I was going to speak to someone I have never met before about my personal life. However when I began my session with Victor I felt completely at ease. Victor made everything quite relaxed when our session went underway which is exactly what I needed. Whilst making me feel comfortable, he listened and gave insightful advice which made me question the way I thought about myself in such a unique and improved manner. Victor kept asking me if there was anything else I needed to discuss which gave me the confidence to explain other related situations to him.
I recommend Victor because of his calm energy and how, after listening, he creates personal questions about looking at things in a different and positive way.
Victor is my first actual counselor, and I’m extremely happy that I got him. Within a short amount of time, I’ve already started being able to understand what’s really going on with my emotions. I would highly recommend Victor as a counselor to anyone.
Victor does listen and understands what you are trying to say even if you’re not sure what you are trying to say. I feel in capable hands working on myself with victories guidance.
In the short time I've been subscribed to teencounseling.com and matched with Victor, he's already been able to start helping me through such a wide variety of personal issues, concerns, and trauma in a highly efficient, empathetic, and understanding manner. As I reflect on the progress I've made with him thus far, I'm very much looking forward to continuing my very constructive sessions with him.
He’s a great he helped me
