About me

Greetings! My name is Thasia (Thay-zuh) Allen and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the Jacksonville Florida area. I work with individuals with a wide range of concerns including depression, mood disorders, family relations issues, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders. I combine different therapeutic approaches based on client's presenting concerns, goals, and motivation, such as, cognitive-behavioral, brief therapy, mindfulness, dialectical behavioral therapy, client-centered, solution-focused therapy. I would be a good match for anyone interested in a counselor of color and/or one who provides a safe space for LGBTQ and all individuals.

Life's struggles can be overwhelming and challenging. My goal is to provide you with practical solutions and tools you can apply in all aspects of your life. As my client, we will begin services where you are, while assisting you in identifying healthy solutions to your problems. It is my belief that most people have the ability to grow and build on their own strengths; however, at times, need empowerment and encouragement. Therapy is a collaborative process and I will assist you to learn, grow, and make positive changes that can result in a more fulfilling life.

I am committed to reducing the stigma of mental illness and I am glad that you have reached out for help and I look forward to working with you.

Thasia checks in and has really helped me with reframing my mind and practical ideas for dealing with stress. I’ve only talked to her twice, but she gets me and the suggestions are working.

Thasia, without even trying, will cause you to open to her because of her natural sense and skill of being personable. I've had good therapists, and I've had bad therapists, but Thasia is the first time I've had a great therapist.

I started with individual therapy and transitioned into couples therapy. Both have been great. She doesn't take sides and gives us gems to incorporate into our daily lives when dealing with each other. It has helped our relationship ALOT.

I have had a great experience with Thasia. She is a supportive listener, and someone I greatly respect and feel comfortable opening up to. I trust her wisdom and guidance. She's made me feel safe to open up in ways I don't always feel safe to do.

Ms. Thasia is like the God Mom I never had. Our first session we instantly clicked like we had already knew each other. It was like she just knew what to say and gave me some very helpful tips to get through my journey. She’s very patient and listens and is very understanding. I love how she checks on me throughout the week. I’m so glad that teen counseling selected Ms. Thasia to be my counselor. So far, she is wonderful and I’m excited that she is helping me through this journey!

In my short time speaking with Thasia, she has been a great help with positively affecting my mental health. I do hope to continue working with her as much as I can. Also, I believe that she deserves a raise if possible.

Thasia is absolutely right for her job. I am still in such a lost state but feel valid, encouraged and heard...and in my world that is pretty hard to find at this point. Compassion too, because I am struggling and being so hard on myself. I actually see a light at the end of the tunnel here and there now.

Work with me!
