About me

Hello. I am Tarsha Banks-Williams. I have over 16 years of experience in the speciality area of counseling. I am currently a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida and I hold a National Certification in Counseling. I have counseled individuals (e.g., females and males) from ages 5 to 19 years of age. I have counseled this age group in the following settings: home, school, inpatient hospitalization/acute stabilization unit and the juvenile justice/correctional setting. The biggest thing that I find from this age group is the importance of being authentic and "down to earth". Explaining things and discussing challenging topics in a manner where this population can understand is key. I have worked with this age group on an individual & group bases as well as alongside their parental figures to determine the most effective care and treatment possible for the client being served. I have encountered and served clients with the following concerns: ODD, Conduct Disorder, Autism, ADHD, Intellectual disabilities, eating disorders, self-esteem concerns, depression, anxiety, substance abuse issues, psychosis, parent-child relational issues, history of suicide/self-harm, insomnia, PTSD, difficulty setting life goals and so forth. I am confident that I can assist your child with meeting their needs.

Out of the two therapists I've ever had, she is the better of the two. Would seek her out if I needed therapy again in the future.

I’ve had many therapists in my lifetime, (too many that I’d like to admit to). Tarsha is the best and most relatable. She meets me where I am while letting me find my own answers. My journey with her is coming up on a year and 7 months and I couldn’t be more proud of the myself and the progress that I’ve made with her help and tools.
