About me
Children and adolescents have a completely different set of stressors to manage, while also managing some of the same concerns adults are facing. Changes in family structure, stress in the family environment, stress from classes and peers at school, bullying, and the over stimulation and negative behaviors stemming from increased access to technology. Adolescents are trying to survive in a time when they are constantly bombarded with technology and multiple messages from media that can at times be very confusing. In addition, parents are trying to navigate a world with their children that is completely different that the world they grew up in - even if in the same town.
I have worked with adolescents in differing capacities over the past 15 years and have found the importance of creating a safe space for them to express themselves, find structure in a chaotic environment, and feel empowered to take charge of their lives and responsibility for their own actions. I have worked diligently with adolescents to teach the importance of setting and maintaining appropriate boundaries as well as assisting with improving communication with family.
My counseling style is open, non-judgmental, caring, and warm. I believe in treating everyone with respect and compassion and make it a goal to always meet people where they are on their journey of wellness and healing. I utilize interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy to assist people with finding the peace they need to move their life forward.
You are welcome to message me anytime through Better Help. The frequency with which you can have access to a therapist to work through day to day emotions and problem solving is incredibly beneficial for most and a very big difference from traditional outpatient counseling. I usually check messages throughout the day (at least 2-3 times minimally), seven days per week. I offer messaging, live chat, and phone sessions with availability in the evenings and weekends and limited availability during the business day. Please note that what is showing on my calendar may not reflect my only availability so please feel free to always check that out with me through messaging first.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Tara Lineberry. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Tara is very consistent and flexible and has been a great soundingboard for all the issues I addressed with her over many useful months.
I have been with Tara for over two years and I can't even put in words how much she helped me. Looking back I was in quite a dark place and Tara helpled me get better and gave me the tools I needed. Thank you!
Tara goes the extra mile.
Tara is an exceptional therapist. I’m very thankful for her for helping me through some difficult times in my life.
I have had a rough last few years and I just needed someone to talk to, that wouldn’t judge me, who would help and support me, but also hold me accountable. Tara did just that. I’m able to see things from another perspective and my life seems more manageable. Thank you Tara!!
Tara is the absolute best
Tara is a wonderful down to earth therapist. She truly listens and finds ways to help me process my thoughts and feelings.
She is amazing and makes me actually feel heard which is what I desperately need. And how she relates makes it easier to express and explain what I’m thinking. Very grateful for her help
My daughter Miranda has been interacting with Tara, and she seems quite positive about things. I have my first session soon, so will have more productive comments after that. But I so appreciate your asking!
Tara is very responsive and has great times for video sessions that work with my schedule!
She is amazing. Great listener and super understanding. Very flexible with her schedule and is kind :)
Tara is great at relating and making us feel "normal". She asks GREAT questions and is able to really take the lead in sessions when needed. Otherwise, she encourages us to identify and discuss our needs. I would highly recommend her.
So far..great!!!!
Tara Lineberry is a great therapist who listened to me and made sure I was okay.
I’ve been working with Tara since May and she has been truly incredible! I really appreciate having her.
Wonderful counselor! Great listener and understands my issues with advise and coping skills
Tara listens and has great perspective on issues. She is able to support and allow me to reflect.
She is Absolutely Amazing!!!!
She’s awesome, super easy to talk to about anything from rough day at work to dealing with “big” issues. Very helpful and pushes just enough to make you think and work on things you’ve talked about but not too much as to make you uncomfortable! 13/10 would recommend Tara for sure, kind, sweet, fun, smart, caring, and willing to call you one your bs if needed lol.
Tara has been a very good listener, provides very useful advise. In the past I have felt that other counselors have not worked out but Tara makes me feel like we’ve know each other for years. In 2 sessions I feel like my confidence, is slowly coming back. I can say I slowly feel like myself again.
Great listener. Makes counseling fun.
Very pleasant to work with.
Tara is extremely caring and supportive. I have a hard time finding counselors that I "click" with, but Tara is amazing!
She’s an awesome therapist, she not only listens to both my wife and I.. but provides feedback that doesn’t just take one side. She has helped us grow as a couple, I HIGHLY recommend her.
