About me

I am a seasoned therapist licensed in Florida with over 20 years of experience working with clients from a diverse background and age groups. I earned my Bachelors degree from Syracuse University in Psychology as well as a minor in Child and Family Studies. I attended San Jose State University for my Masters in Social work with a clinical focus on child and family issues. I have worked with clients in private practice as well as community and school based settings.

I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including ADHD, behavioral challenges, life challenges, managing parental expectations, peer pressure, academic concerns, sexuality, depression, and anxiety, to name a few. I am trained in providing trauma-informed care as well as working with clients facing perinatal loss and postpartum concerns. I am passionate about the work I do and empowering my clients. I am a strong advocate for young people and have a keen understanding of the concerns many youth are dealing with.

I am a culturally competent clinician who believes in treating everyone with dignity, respect, and empathy. As such, I tailor our conversations to meet each person’s specific and unique needs. I believe in empowering clients to find their voices to speak positivity and truth to their lives. While I primarily take a client-centered and solution-focused approach in treatment I employ a variety of treatment modalities that include, but is not limited to, psychodynamic, psychoanalysis, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and interpersonal.

You have taken the first step in being here to seek support for your journey. Let me walk along with you and help you find the tools to empower yourself to achieve the change you seek.

I look forward to working with you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Sonya Belletti. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.

We went back to Sonya after our first initial meeting last year. (We stepped away for individual therapy.) Our experience with our first initial session left a great impression on us. So the transition to be back in session with her has been graceful, welcoming and informative. We are excited to see what our upcoming sessions will be. We are extremely thankful to have such a well educated and compassionate person like Sonya guide us in our journey.

I have engaged in therapy on and off throughout the years. Sonia is the first and only Therapist to ever listen to my request and thoroughly help me with the issue. I am very grateful to have met her. I believe on progressing in treatment.

After 2+ decades of countless sessions with dozens of therapists, Sonya has quickly shown to be the most caring, open, understand, and helpful people I’ve ever worked with. You can trust her for sound advice and insight, and that she truly wants the best for both halves of the whole. I hope this serves as both a review, and a “thank you”.

Sonya is so fantastic. They say you need to connect with your therapist, well... I certainly do! Not only is she an expert who always has the right thing to say or the right question to ask, we have similar interests which makes the relationship feel so natural and supportive. She’s a great listener (sorry I talk a lot!) and she remembers what you’ve said in the past, piecing it all together and seeing the patterns emerge. Having someone understand your mind from a different perspective is invaluable and Sonya has been amazing. Thanks again.

This was my first time speaking with a counselor and I was a little nervous but had wanted to try it for years. I instantly felt comfortable speaking with Sonya. I am truly enjoying my weekly calls with Sonya. She really challenges my way of thinking and is helping me on my journey to improve myself.

Over the years I have sought assistance from many counselors and after my initial two sessions with Sonya, I feel heard, gotten, and have received guidance that has already proved helpful. She is obviously well trained and has much experience in this field. I am super appreciative of her support.

Work with me!
