About me

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, licensed in the state of Ohio and Nebraska. I am an Army Veteran and have been practicing social work since 2014. I have been providing mental health interventions since 2017. I have practiced in many diverse settings ranging from in-home family brief intervention, adult and adolescent intensive out-patient substance use, adult and adolescent outpatient group therapy and inpatient psychiatric settings. My focus is primarily with women, post-partum and family systems. I have worked with adolescents and individuals on a spectrum of concerns including anxiety, relationship issues, communication issues, depression, family issues, anger, parenting issues, and adjustment issues.
My therapy style is both supportive and confrontational. I thoroughly believe in establishing a good rapport with each client and individualizing interventions and communication style. I believe that every person has a story to tell and that each persons' reality should be validated. I work diligently with clients to challenge their thinking and increase mental growth. I believe each client should be able to speak openly without judgment and I respect each of my clients and their boundaries. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, and motivational interviewing. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I believe in guiding the client in healing on their own terms.
It can be a challenge to find the right therapist for your needs. It takes courage to come forward and begin to speak out loud about your deepest thoughts and feelings. I look forward to getting to know the real you and working to identify an approach that will work to best help you find your inner calm.

My daughter has been meeting with Sarah for several weeks and Sarah has had both individual sessions with her and a joint session. Sarah is a great communicator and is punctual to each of her meetings. She has sent us supplementary material that has been helpful and my daughter sends her messages via chat during the week and Sarah provides helpful replies. I have been very pleased with our experience and Sarah has truly been an exemplary therapist on this platform.

She understands why I am here and provides insight as to my standpoint and others around me. She asks penetrating and thoughtful questions that make me think. This has definitely given me hope to get over and better cope with my anger issues.

Sarah is someone who is absolutely real with you but so encouraging and fun. She is very professional and goal oriented to get you to better place. I have had a few counselors that didn’t work out in my life and am so happy to have found Sarah. Thank you Sarah for helping me get my life back from anxiety!
