I have worked in day treatment, schools, hospitals, and in the community with children and families affected by trauma and life changes, and with kids and teens who have significant behavioral problems. For the past ten years, I have worked as a clinical supervisor and therapist providing home based and community based therapy to children, teens, and families on a variety of mental health issues, including Depression, Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Oppositional Defiance, and many other disorders, and as well as helping clients with a variety of life adjustment issues. I have helped kids of all ages who are in foster care or who have been adopted, with the resulting adjustments that occur with belonging to a new family life. My primary areas of interest and specialty include working with LGBTQ+ kids and teens, including a focus on non-binary gender and trans identity; working with children and teens who have had trauma and resulting anxiety and depression; and parent and step family issues, especially focused on blended families and LGBTQ+ families. My sessions and focus are always Client Centered, encouraging clients to have a high level of participation in the direction of therapy and encouraging their strengths and abilities. I am passionate about social justice work, and value the unique voice of each and every person, while promoting diversity and inclusion. I have been effective in connecting with teen clients over my years of experience in the field. I strive to be a helpful, dependable, consistent, and motivating therapist that will help kids find peace and strength in their current situation, while pursuing the life goals that are most important to them.
