Dr. Bob Nolan

(Ph., D., LMHC)

About Me

I am a licensed mental health counselor in Florida, with over 25 years of experience working as a counselor, college professor, and consultant. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, lifestyle changes, personality disorders, Bipolar disorder and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical and emotional trauma, as well as substance abuse issues. I have worked with chilkdren and adolescents in settings such as hospitals, residential treatment centers, and in outpatient practices.

My counseling style is considerate and personable. I feel that teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate level in counseling and human development helps to give me a clearer understanding of issues that go on throughout the life span. My experience has taught me what particular skills I need and interventions to use in response to a host of issues. I believe in treating all people with compassion, respect, and sensitivity, and I believe that you know yourself best. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and rational-emotive counseling. I will tailor our relationship and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

Many of us feel a lack of stability emotionally from time to time. Oftentimes, we feel out of control emotionally because of some event going on in our lives, We may feel that we are on the outside looking in, and that everyone around seems to have it all together. To seek a more complete and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change needs to be encouraged and supported . If you are ready to make a change, I am here to support and empower you.

I am sure this is something that we can do together and I look forward to working with you!

Dr. Nolan has been truly amazing and I have definitely enjoyed the last 4-5 months of working together. He truly cares and listens to what concerns you have and gives positive feedback continously. I enjoy his counseling style, as it fits more as a supportive friend--with positively more expertise. I've had numerous counselors in the past and none of them compare to him. I'd recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Nolan is just the bee’s knees. I recommend him thoroughly. I am able to vent, but he guides me into reflection and provides me with ideas on how to handle the situations.

I am very grateful - and when I am having a rough time - he is who I think of to reach out to.

I really feel like I can explore my authentic self with Dr. Nolan. No matter what I talk about I never feel judged or critiqued. I think counseling is to help people understand themselves. Some counselors think it's a place to tell others what to do but Dr. Nolan is there to help me learn how to do it for myself.

Dr. Nolan is great. The technology you force him to use needs some work. Phone Sessions are simply cut off. No warning. Difficult/Confusing on how to get connected to your phone session...so we waste the first 5 minutes on negotiating your tech and UI. Please assign someone to document the complete user experience with your platform. Dr. Nolan is great.

Dr. Nolan is the epitome of what I was looking for in a counselor. A professional that will guide me to determine my own path for personal mental development. He has never made a decision or verdict of how I feel about or think of a situation, instead, he mirrors my own words and thought processes back to me which facilitates me making a breakthrough about my own behavior, ideology, and reactions. He’s respectful of my words, ideas, and conclusions. I highly recommend his guidance, he’s as an exceptional counselor.
