About me

I am a licensed mental health counselor in Florida, with over 25 years of experience working as a counselor, college professor, and consultant. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, lifestyle changes, personality disorders, Bipolar disorder and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical and emotional trauma, as well as substance abuse issues. I have worked with chilkdren and adolescents in settings such as hospitals, residential treatment centers, and in outpatient practices.

My counseling style is considerate and personable. I feel that teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate level in counseling and human development helps to give me a clearer understanding of issues that go on throughout the life span. My experience has taught me what particular skills I need and interventions to use in response to a host of issues. I believe in treating all people with compassion, respect, and sensitivity, and I believe that you know yourself best. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and rational-emotive counseling. I will tailor our relationship and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

Many of us feel a lack of stability emotionally from time to time. Oftentimes, we feel out of control emotionally because of some event going on in our lives, We may feel that we are on the outside looking in, and that everyone around seems to have it all together. To seek a more complete and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change needs to be encouraged and supported . If you are ready to make a change, I am here to support and empower you.

I am sure this is something that we can do together and I look forward to working with you!

So glad he is available through teen counseling and makes himself so available to me, really hearing me and getting things in a way that is relieving on its own, plus all the valuable advice and encouragement that improves my mindset. Thanks Dr Nolan.
