About me
Welcome! It is my honor and privilege to work as a therapist. I have worked in the field of counseling for 25 years, offering supports in the areas of personal development, professional coaching and self-advocacy. My graduate studies were in the area of Cognitive Behavior Therapy and doctoral work in the are of Cultural Diversity and Inclusivity.
Counselor - As a therapist working with individuals, providing a safe space where a client can be open in sharing their story, exploring their life and reflecting on positives and negatives is my goal. I like the term 'naturally therapeutic' as people find the approach supportive, helpful and meaningful. Identification of concerns, development of goals and implementation of new strategies and skills are a helpful sequence for growth. Some counseling modalities supportive of these strategies include Person-Centered Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy,.
Coach - As a therapist working with individuals, there is often a connection between a clients personal issues and their professional development. This may become a good opportunity to look at professional growth and for development of career goals. Linking these to personal objectives can provide opportunities for generalization of skills into the world of work and positive growth professionally. Additional to other therapies, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Mentalization Based Therapy are helpful tools.
Consultant - Many individuals have identified special needs, specifically ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Sensory Processing Disorders, Autism, etc. While they may have developed coping skills and strategies, as one moves into the world of work, relationships and family life, new skills and strategies may be needed. Self- advocacy is an important skill and strategy for higher education and working environments. My work as a special education specialist and advocate can help adults become skilled and empowered into adult circumstances. Some modalities might include those mentioned above or additionally Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Psychological Testing and Evaluation would be useful to consider.
Working with teens has been a passion for many years. While counseling in private practice, I also counseled school age clients from elementary through high school. Teens are often described as the 'identified client' but one of my favorite juvenile court judges once said, "When you see a kid in trouble, it's like seeing a turtle on a fence post. You have to know that kid did not get there by themselves."
Teens are part of systems which may be failing them. A family system might be at risk and the teen may suffer. A school system might be failing and the teen may suffer. A peer group might be a danger and the teen may suffer.
A largely under-served teen group is counseling for those with Special Needs. ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Sensory-Processing Disorders, Emotional Disturbances, Autism and others can be assisted with counseling. Self Advocacy is also a great skill which can be developed in teens. Common therapeutic services might include Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming, to name a few.
Kids are also extremely resilient.
Helping teens identify underlying causes of their symptomatic behavior, exploring with them goals and objectives and engaging support systems to help them implement these goals and objectives are useful strategies for empowering kids.
I welcome the opportunity to spend time in talk with your teenagers. Working with the parent(s), school and other supports, kids can get back on track and achieve their hearts desires.

I've been with Rebecca for over a year now and she has really helped me through a variety of difficult and challenging situations. This is my first foray into individual therapy and I can not say enough good things about it and that is 100% due to the care Rebecca provides. She is the reason I am where I am today mentally and emotionally. Highly recommend her to anyone going through life changes or navigating interpersonal relationships while getting to know themselves in the process.

Great counselor
A fantastic counselor who exudes professionalism and kindness. I feel like Rebecca helps me find my own answers and leaves me with positive introspection after every session. I've had a handful of sessions with her and look forward to doing more emotional work. So much gratitude for what she does.
As someone who has never done counseling before, I always wondered what the experience would be like... Rebecca listens and really makes you feel comfortable opening up and expressing your feelings. Only have meeting with her a couple of times, I think she understands us and will be able to help us overcome our issues.
Great and easy to use

Rebecca is the first therapist I've ever worked with. When we met I was completely and utterly lost with how to build and maintain my relationships and friendships with people, and how to have a solid foundation of trust with a person.
She worked with me consistently for 3 months and showed me the utmost care and respect for what I've been through, how I feel, and the thoughts and processes, healthy or not, behind my own actions. Through her guidance and thorough active listening skills, she's helped mend my heart and provided me a solid and trustworthy place to share my thoughts and seek advice on all sorts of issues.
I trust Rebecca and look forward to my next session with her, and I'm sure without a doubt you'll feel the same as well.
I appreciate the candor and tone Rebecca uses and the safe space she provides in therapy.

Rebecca Ingallas... let's just say I’ve seen many counselors in my time and she is easy to talk, and open up to (that is huge for me as I am an introvert and don’t open up to anyone). She has shined light on areas that others have failed to see! Absolutely amazing! I can count the number of people that I’ve opened up to on one hand and she is one of them!!
