About Me

I am a person-centered therapist who believes in the potential in each individual. I have worked with individuals from highly varied backgrounds and work to see the potential for growth in each person. I have a master's degree in marriage and family therapy, as well as a second master's degree in K-8 education. I have experience teaching, training, and providing therapy for individuals of all ages. I help largely through helping people find their motivation, self-worth, and potential in order to solve issues ranging from past traumas to current dilemmas.

I have worked with several young people to help them heal from traumatic events, find joy in life, and a sense of purpose. As a mother of teens I recognize the importance of helping people live authentically during this time in life, helping to set them up as happy adults.

I am married and we have two sons, who are 17 and 15.

Rachel is helping my 15 year old daughter navigate a number of issues. This is working well and my daughter is finding the sessions of value. Rachel is knowledgeable, warm, empathetic, practical and flexible. The flexibility of booking and moving sessions about is working well. Much better than trying to arrange 1:1 sessions previously in the evening after school.

Written by J.O. on May 05, 2022 after therapy with Rachel for 4 months on issues concerning stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, intimacy-related issues, self esteem, and adhd

Rachel has been an amazing therapist for me for the past several months. I have found so much more confidence and freedom after talking with her. She's very patient, and gracious, and has taught me how to apply that to myself. I would recommend Rachel Tiede to anyone!

Written by K.E. on May 05, 2022 after therapy with Rachel for 2 months on issues concerning stress, anxiety, and self esteem

Rachel has been one of the most caring, supportive, and encouraging therapists I have ever worked with. She is responsive, thoughtful, and is not afraid to ask tough questions to help you find the root of your problems. She has helped me work through my anxiety, panic disorder, and self-destructive behaviors to help me feel stable and secure in my relationships, career, and life. Should I need therapy again in the future, I will be coming straight to Rachel and have no hesitation with recommending her to anyone.

Written by O.P. on Apr 16, 2022 after therapy with Rachel for 2 weeks on issues concerning relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, and grief

I have been working with Rachel for about two weeks and am already deeply impressed (not an easy thing with me). I struggle mightily with trust, shame and trying to feel connected to people - Rachel seems to understand this on a deep level and responds in timely/appropriate ways. She has kept her promise regarding how often she would respond to my written messages and has encouraged me to write as often as I need to (I am a writer anyway, so this is very helpful for me). Rachel even made the effort to ensure a response to a message she received prior to a session on the day we had a meeting scheduled. It is still too early for me to say I trust her - I am moving toward that with hope and expectation because she has given me reasons for that hope.

Using this service and finding the right counselor has kept me grounded. Being able to communicate with her through a medium that I’m comfortable with and suits my lifestyle also helps a great deal as I’m not always in a private position to be able to speak on the phone. My counselor is very supportive yet insightful and is helping me to reach the better version of myself.

I just want to say that I appreciate your help. Walking into this therapy thing I wasn’t as optimistic. But I can see that talking about my problems and secrets with a complete stranger does help and for once I’m not being dismissed or having to deal with a biased opinion. I can’t thank you enough for just listening and receiving the info being stated and responding with helpful advice or questions that I try not to ask myself. You don’t cross the line at all and I’m happy I got to experience this. Super new to me but I’m hopeful of the growth that I will go through. Thank you!

I always found it hard to articulate what I was feeling and understanding why, but Rachel has taken the time to walk me through everything step by step and give me real clarity and understanding. I am feeling so much more connected to my emotions and although it is still an ongoing process, I really feel like I am healing. Once assigned to Rachel through teencounseling.com I was a little hesitant to work with a female therapist. I was under the false assumption that a male would be able to better understand the scope of what I was going through. Thankfully, I was persuaded from a review much like this one and I have no regrets. Rachel was a reliable asset in helping me work through my recent break-up, depression, self-esteem and confidence issues, life transition, career change, and even issues associated with sex. She proved my assumption wrong by not only being able to understand my situation but exceeded my expectations in her ability to easily discuss difficult topics and guide me through all these obstacles to build a better me.

I Highly Recommend Rachel to anyone who is searching for assistance in a life transition and working through depression or relationship issues. Rachel will help you move forward and supply you with the tools to address difficulties if they arise in the future.
