About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in South Florida. I have 6 years of therapy experience rooted in trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, and delinquency. I'm a proponent of inclusion and honoring self-determination of an individual. I have worked with adolescents and family units, tackling self- harm and suicidality, and challengeswith interpersonalrelationships. I have had the honor of working with the survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting in Parkland at the wellness center developed as a response to heal a community affected by gun violence. I assisted in developing treatment plans that centered on holistic health through wellness activities like exercise, art therapy, and support groups. I'm currently working in hospice supporting families through their journey of grief and loss.
My modalities that I incorporate are trauma-informed care approach which focuses on: safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, and empowerment. I also utilize other evidence based approaches like cognitive behavior therapy, and solution- focused therapy.
My number one objective is to hold a safe place that fosters healing, learning, self- awareness and overall mental peace by highlighting your own strengths to build your toolbox to overcome challenges. Thank you for your time as you invest in a better version of yourself!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Phyllis Jeannestal. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Only had a couple of sessions with Phyllis and it has been great so far. She really listens to our concerns. Looking forward for our future sessions because we believe she can help us as couple and better our relationship.
Great speaking voice! Excellent listening skills. & we're only 2 sessions in!
I’ve only had one session with Phyllis but i’m definitely coming back for another. She’s a great listener, asks all the right questions, and helps me unpack and solve my problems. Phyllis is a great therapist and a great person over all.
I'm glad my son finally decided to have a session with Phyllis and I knew it will workout for him. She is great!
Thank you Phyllis for helping me in this period of time where I spent nights trying to figure out how to help my son and I feel confident with your assistance we can help him, he is so good and as a mother seeing him not confident or with low self esteem make me feels so sad.
Best regards,
Viviana
She lent an ear when I desperately needed to talk. I felt she was easy to connect with and I left sessions feeling confident.
I really enjoyed and felt better after my first session. Looking forward to our next session.
