About me

My name is Phillip, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Chicago, Illinois with more than four years of experience working in private practice as a psychotherapist and coach. I have worked with clients who have come to me with a range of concerns, including sexual and gender identity, depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, and ADHD. I have more than seven years of experience working in a high school setting as a high school social worker and addictions counselor. My undergraduate work was in Communication, so I am equipped to work with a variety of people to meet their unique needs. I also started a non-profit that supports pre-teen, teens, young adults, and parents through the coming out process.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I am constantly checking my biases and treat everyone with respect and compassion. My treatment approach is client-centered and strengths-based, combining Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies. We will work together to create an individualized treatment plan that focuses on your strengths and allows for you to maximize your therapeutic experience and our time together.

I commend you on this courageous first step of reaching out to a therapist, and I look forward to working with you!

We have only been using this service for a few weeks. I am very happy with Phillip and the progress my son is making. I additionally like that it is his responsibility to set set up his next time so he takes ownership for taking care if himself. I would recommend this service even if we were not in the middle of a pandemic. It gives my son control and that itself is a huge win.

Philip is great, has great suggestions and is always on time. I wish there was an easier way to bring up topics to talk about, but I feel like that's mostly on me. All in all he's great.

Phil, you’ve turned my life around. You’ve helped me to be cognizant and effective under stress and while in a mental spiral, and helped me learn how to deal with a lot of my issues and baggage. More crucially, I’ve been through 4 or 5 councillors and felt distrusting of each one, however speaking to you has been effortless and highly effective in restoring balance to my mind. I wish I’d begun speaking to you years ago.

Phillip is a great listener and has some great solutions for things I am struggling with. He often makes me laugh as we work through each issue I am concerned with and helps me feel like everything is manageable. I like that he helps me change my negative thoughts into positive thoughts and open mindedness. I always look forward to my meetings with him!
