About Me

Welcome teens! I want you to know I am so glad you reached out for help, that is very courageous and wise. The willingness and desire to do something different is fundamental to growing. Looking back on my teenage years I now see clearly if I had reached out for help during that critical time, if I had connected with an experienced guide, I would have had an early start on discovering how and where to grow.

I was lost. I knew I felt something, but didn’t know what, or what to do about it. I didn’t know what I could do but keep trying harder with what I thought would make me happy. My go-to was, “I’m fine, just leave me alone.” You are right to hope that things can change and will get better. This is work we can’t do alone and the results are not instantaneous, though with effort and a little faith I’m sure you will discover the answers you seek.

There is not really a typical problem. I treat people, not a diagnosis! This is about you.
Mine is a client-centered approach, emphasizing strengths-based and goal-focused therapies. My role is in providing a safe space for you to explore what you are experiencing. Everyone’s journey is different. We will explore strategies together finding out what works for you. This may require a little thinking outside the box, using your innate creativity to learn about yourself.

Here is a little information about me. I graduated in 2009 with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. What I learned in a variety of therapy jobs since then is that those who seek out or are forced to get help are people who just want to be happy. Before social work, I was a street photographer and editor in television news. The most compelling stories were of people struggling, in all walks of life, to be happy. Helping to change the world through storytelling inspired me to help change the world one person’s story at a time.

Now is our opportunity to use the present moment to grow and introduce you to a stranger, the real you. Come on in and we’ll swap stories, let me know what’s going on with you.

This is the first time I’ve ever done video counselling but Philip made it feel so easy. He’s been helpful & insightful & really helped me find a better place in my own mind. For this I am very grateful.

Philip has a way of discussing painful things in a way that is respectful, authentic and encouraging. He communicates a positive outlook and adds just enough humor to help my son feel better.
