I attended New Mexico State University for my Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy and graduated in 2010. I have worked in a variety of settings including a psychiatric hospital, a state core agency, and a contract private practice group. I have worked with individuals ages 3 and up and from all walks of life. For many years I focused my therapy work with pre-teens and teenagers with a variety of issues including grief, depression with suicidal thoughts, anxiety, self-esteem issues, trauma, and substance abuse issues. I tend to use some Experiential to build the therapeutic relationship, humanistic and strengths-based to build on a person's strengths, and Cognitive-Behavoiral Therapy to work on thought-changing and behavior modification.

Nichole is a great counselor who get to know you and get you help in just a short amount of time.
Nicole is an excellent counselor . She is professional and gives slot of tools to guide clients. I highly recommend her!
She has been the best therapist I have ever had, I've never felt better about talking to somebody about my issues.
It has been great having Nicole as a counselor. She is understanding and does give advice to get on track or stay on track for new goals and old goals
I've been working with Nicole for a few months now. Being able to send an instant message when a situation presents itself is very comforting and it's beyond great, for me, as my memory is horrible. Instead of trying to remember what happened to talk about it, it's conversed right there and then. I've learned a great deal about myself (in this short period). I truly appreciate her availability, advice and guidance.
I appreciate that she checks up on me when I haven't had time to respond. She listens well and balances listening with advice or counsel on what I could do
The fact that she takes the time to see how I'm doing, especially after I have a tough day, makes me feel like someone cares about me & is willing to listen to my feelings without judgement.
Nicole is amazing! She makes me see things differently, analyze and process things in a better and healthier way. Plus, I can schedule personal and dedicated sessions with her one or more times a week. Either video chatting, phone calling, or messaging if you're more comfortable that way. Talking to her is so personal. She's inviting, warm, down to earth and just incredible. She has made such a huge difference in my life.
I feel like I’m talking to a friend when I talk to Nicole.
This is the 1st time I have sought online counseling. Ms. Rivera-Brastad was a good first start for me. She has helped me to think outside the box with my recovery process. I would have no problems with recommending her to others if they were to try online counseling.
It's only been a short time but I'm feeling confident about what we are doing here.
Nicole is eager to help and understand your needs and desires.
Nicole - you are such a joy. Your knowledge, words and counsel are helping me through a very difficult time in my life. Thank you, and may God bless you the way you bless others.
Nicole is the best. She's like an understanding best friend who doesn't get too involved but goes beyond "wow that sucks". She makes me think about things I never thought of before.
