About me
My name is Nicole Merhaut and I was born and raised in California. I attended CalPoly Pomona where I graduated in 2009 with my Bachelors degree in Psychology. After graduating I moved to Florida where I received my Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2015 from Capella University. Additionally, I received certifications in Applied Behavior Analysis and Addictive and Compulsive Behaviors in 2016 and 2017.
I have worked with children, individuals, couples, and families for over 10 years in a community mental health setting as a Targeted Case Manager, Master Level Practitioner, and now a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have experience in treating Anxiety, Depression, Anger Management, family conflict, co-parenting issues, substance misuse issues, Autism Spectrum Disorder, coping with medical issues including Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, eating-related issues, self-harm, and more.
I use a Cognitive Behavioral approach as well as a Solution-Focused approach to help individuals reach their life goals and overcome challenges they may face in life. These approaches are described as; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is about how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected and how they affect our daily lives. Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) is a goal-directed collaborative approach that focuses on the present and future to help an individual reach their goals. I provide a warm, caring, non-judgmental approach that is dedicated to helping you overcome life’s challenges. I look forward to learning more about you and helping you overcome any difficulties you may be facing in life.

Nicole is attentive, practical, and aware of the ways ADHD makes putting new habits into action difficult. I enjoy my sessions with her.
Actionable advice. Thank you.

I have not been with her for long but so far very satisfied
Nicole is a great fit for me. She is attentive, thoughtful, and experienced. She has been a great help to me.
Nicole has been incredible. She not only is very down to earth, but she hears ALL of my concerns and works with me extensively with stress/anger management, anxiety management, relationships, communication improvement, and self-esteem. The time I spend with her weekly, along with the additional resources she provides, is truly priceless. I am thankful for the growth I have made during my time with her.
I appreciate and love everything Nicole has dove to help me!
Nicole is a compassionate person. She listens to her clients and then helps to give suggestions and solutions. She does not dictate, she works with you to help guide you and find your own path. I have enjoyed working with Nicole and her caring nature.
