About me
Thank you for taking your time to learn more about me! My name is Natalie and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist in North Carolina. I have 9 years of experience working with individuals with mental health and substance abuse concerns. I have worked in a variety of settings including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, school settings, outpatient therapy, in-home therapy, and addictions. I use evidenced based treatment; such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing. I remain involved in ongoing training to serve the needs of the individuals I work with. I have worked with children and adolescents ages 5 to 19 years old. I enjoy working with others who have concerns with anxiety, anger management, self-esteem, family conflict, relationship concerns, depression, concerns with sleep, addictions, and trauma. I am open minded and nonjudgmental. I learn from everyone I work with. I enjoy meeting new people and challenging others to work towards being their best self. I understand life can be challenging at times. I am hopeful I can assist you with achieving your goals, so you can better manage your current stressors.
I believe one of the most important elements to seeking a therapist is ensuring they are a good fit. If you cannot talk to someone about your concerns, how can it work? My style as a therapist is person centered and interactive. I try to get to know you and your goals, then work in a partnership with you to attain them. I think it important to develop a plan together and adjust it accordingly as we move along. I am adaptive to you and your specific needs. I enjoy talking, planning and work on the parts of the plan between sessions, if needed. I enjoy challenging you to try new things! I believe you will find me easy to talk to. I am casual in my style, but determined and focused when it comes to our work together! I do not judge or discriminate. I invite diversity in my practice. I am excited to work with you regardless of your gender identity, sexual preference, lifestyle choices, religion, cultural background or race.
My dedication to the field of mental health and substance use is driven by my personal experiences. I recognize the stigma of mental health and substance use concerns. I see firsthand the daily challenges others have coping with their concerns. I am very passionate about my work. I think counseling is an awesome way to learn and explore new skills to assist in the growing process. I truly believe the more we learn, the more confident and secure we feel about ourselves. I believe there are no one size fits all to treatment. Growth is a process and takes time, but I believe together we can learn from one another and feel good regarding the progress. I would love to the opportunity to assist you! I look forward to having the opportunity to get to know you! Thanks again for taking the time to get to know me!

It’s been Great working with Natalie the past 3 -4 years , she really takes the time to listen to me and help formulate solutions to any challenges I may have.
She’s very professional but personable and I’ve had a few counselors/therapists over the past few years and worked with a couple in the military as a medic, but I feel like I get a lot accomplished with therapy and I feel a lot better about myself after getting to know her and her learning about my life and self. Thanks for the easy connection, she was my first teencounseling.com Counselor
She's great!
Natalie is a very natural and attentive counselor who understands what’s important to me. She makes me feel safe and I always look forward to our sessions. Being able to reach out to her when I feel the pressure mounting, and being able to count on her timely, helpful responses, is invaluable to me. I have grown a lot since we started talking.
She is so supportive! She listens and helps me work through stuff. She also gives me things to work on to keep me in the present.
Very helpful in talking though things and respectful of my concerns big and small.
Natalie was very helpful and personable in understanding and keeping up with what I would talk about in each session. She had a fresh perspective I needed. I especially appreciated her sharing her own experiences with me which made me trust her.
Natalie Stainback is a real asset to the counseling profession. Not only is she knowledgable, understanding, and helpful but I really feel like she cares, she does an outstanding job of getting to the heart of the matter and approaching things from a human perspective. I am grateful for being able to discuss with her openly what's going on and how to actively improve my well-being so that I may in turn shine and be my best self which benefits those around me.
Natalie has been wonderful. She is very kind and has given me several different tips and suggestions on how to cope and manage my stress and anxiety. She always responds as soon as she can and I have been so grateful for this whole process. I strongly recommend seeing her.
Natalie is always checking with Sara and offers her time easily.
Natalie is a caring counselor who listens, offers support, and makes me feel heard
Natalie is always patient and timely. She asks respectful interesting questions that help me think of things in a new way. I can always count on her to listen well.
Natalie has helped me think healthier. I usually think about the bad things that may happen. She gave me a few things to think about to cancel out those thoughts.
Natalie is wonderful.
Natalie is very genuine and makes me feel comfortable expressing anything I'm feeling. Here advice is non biased and it's like having a friend u meet on a train or bus that says just what you need to hear to put certain things into perspective. Like looking at a situation from different angles. I really respect and like her!
She has been nothing but kind and helpful! My issues may not be as severe as other people but it is nice to talk to someone who makes me feel like my problems matter. I feel much better now than I have in a while.
She is great! Very understandable. She has helped me tremendously!
She's pretty neat. So available.
I have only met with Natalie a few times, but I have found her to be empathetic, supportive, and insightful. I appreciate having her on the other end of the phone. She also checks in through messaging mid-week, which I truly appreciate as well.
Natalie is so incredibly supportive and relatable. She never judges me, I feel comfortable discussing anything & everything with her, and she helps me untangle stressful situations while gently nudging me to make positive changes in my life. I am SO grateful to have finally found her!
Natalie is incredible! She’s helped me through a tremendous hardship in my life and continues to offer the support I need to move forward.
It's just been a couple of weeks that I have been talking with Natalie but she is a good counsellor. She checks up on you every few days which is appreciated. She is understanding and listens without prejudice. I can't really say much more since I have only had one video session with her but she is active with messaging and still gives you support and things to think about to help you through text. I will continue my therapy with Natalie as I am satisfied with how things are going.
Natalie has been a great help. I am happy she was my first counselor, and I feel more confident in myself as well as in my future. The advise is immeasurably helpful and I am applying it to all aspects of my life. Thanks Natalie.
I suffer from extreme anxiety. My wife finally told me I needed to talk to someone about it. Natalie is not only caring, compassionate, and kind, but she’s a friend, therapist, and one of very few people I trust. I can open up to her, and not feel judged by her. She’s not a therapist that only asks "how do you feel about that?" she gets to know you as an individual person and help you through all your struggles. She always replies to messages and never makes you feel alone. Thank you Natalie for all you have done!
Natalie is so kind and caring. She makes sure to check on you and remembers everything you tell her. She’s so easy to talk to.
Natalie is superb at responding back in a timely manner, listening to patients issues and coming up with great, helpful responses and things to try to alleviate symptoms. Additionally, she really seems to care about people and it shows!
She's great and makes me feel comfortable.
She stays in contact with me whether I'm writing back or not but shes tried to still be there for me.
