About me
I have worked in the field of mental health since 2002 after receiving a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I graduated in 2012 with a master’s in social work and received my provisional clinical license in 2013. For the past eight years I have provided therapy services to military service members and their families. I have a lot of experience working with individuals who are struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, sleep difficulties, and work/life stress. In addition, marital/couple’s counseling, family therapy, and grief and loss counseling were also my preferences. I believe you will always know yourself better than me and are therefore the expert on you. In general, I like to use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy to look at thoughts and behaviors conducive to where you want to go. Therapy is tough work, and I am here to walk the journey with you.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Nancy Gilmore-Parks. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
She response in a timely manner when you message her.
Nancy is a good listener with great insights to share and she does so with wisdom and respect. In my first month meeting with her she has helped me process things and start to develop healthier habits, moving towards a healthier me.
I can’t say enough great things about Nancy! This was my first time doing any type of counseling and I was nervous to start. From the very beginning, I knew Nancy was going to be great to work with. She was welcoming every time we started a session and always very attentive. She taught me many things I will “carry in my pocket” going forward. She has helped me grow and gain confidence in many different areas of my life. Nancy is very knowledgeable and personable which I think is great for anyone reaching out.
She is very nice, down to earth.. she was able to give me great insight into my anxiety.
Nancy is a superhero!! she is very sweet, kind, intelligence, and really knows how to speak well. I’ve only done a couple of sessions with her but it has already helped so much! Go Nancy!
My son seemed pleasantly surprised with counseling thanks to Nancy!
Nancy has been amazing. She is easy to talk to and makes sure I know that whatever I say is okay because there is no judgements from her. She has already made a big difference in my life.
