I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who practices in the state of Colorado, and have been counseling for the past five years. I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Houston-Downtown in 2011 and a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2013. I've worked in social services in some capacity over the last ten years with teens, young adults & older adults, providing both mentoring and counseling. I am certified in trauma therapy & crisis intervention, and hold the designation of national certified counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors.
I specialize in mental health and substance use treatment with both individuals and groups. This has helped me gain a wide variety of experience in aiding my clients with building skills for coping, regulating emotions, navigating relationships, dealing with grief and loss, & problem-solving. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the modality that I have found to be most effective, because we get to where we are, based on how we think. However, I also use techniques from solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, as well as existential and experiential schools of thought.
My favorite approach is client-centered, which means that my clients get to drive their own treatment. A person's internal motivations will create change much faster than someone else's. It is a great joy in my life to be able to help people unload heavy burdens and progress towards their potential; and it is my honor to be able to help you.

Monique is a wonderful experienced counselor. She listens well and provides a no nonsense approach coupled with empathy and understanding. I would highly recommend her especially if you want someone who understands a spiritual background and perspective but uses a more holistic approach to counseling.
Monique has provided me with the therapy I need and strategies that are realistic
I feel very fortunate being paired with Monique right off the bat. She is very skilled in what she does, her personality is great. I cannot express how thankful I am for her, she is very professional, on time. She makes things easy, it's comfortable and productive.
Ms. Phillip is a wonderful counselor. She is always prepared and on time with her sessions. She really took the time to understand my background and quirks to provide the best plan for my improvement. Her follow up is unparalleled and she makes you feel at ease and comfortable in every session. She's professional and not afraid to guide you to answers that you are reluctant to accept at the beginning. Anytime I don't understand something she will fully explain and answer all of my questions. She is truly the best I could have ever asked for. I look forward to my sessions.
I really feel heard and understood!
I have been extremely pleased with the help that Monique Phillip has given to my daughter and I. She is always available and listens to any concerns and is quick to give advice and ideas. I highly recommend her as a counselor!!
Monique specifically helps address the issues I am dealing with.
Monique listens to me and helps me ask myself the right questions that help me find solutions to my spirals. She's nice and very helpful. She never makes me feel bad about my chaotic life.
Really warm and non judgemental specialist
I have only been working with Monique for a short time, but it has been a wonderful experience so far!! I feel incredibly lucky to have been paired with her. In my many, many years of therapy I have never felt so clearly heard or understood, and the insights she offers are both valuable and compassionately stated. I could not recommend her more highly.
Thank you so very much for being you and joining us in this journey!
Anyone lucky enough to work with Monique will be blessed beyond measure. She's wise, patient, intuitive, responsive and honest in a very kind but direct way, which is exactly what I needed.
I haven't been working with Monique very long but I feel confident she understands my issues and will help me to become much happier.
