About me

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." And today you've taken that one most important step. Hello! My name is Michelle Watson and I'm excited about the opportunity to go along on this journey with you. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Missouri with over 10 years of experience. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, anger management, stress management, ADHD and simply learning to cope with change. In addition, I have over 19 years of experience working with children and youth.

I find that relationship plays a large role in a client’s willingness to go down this path, especially teenagers. It’s essential that they know you care. I believe my empathic nature and ability to establish a trusting therapeutic relationship gives me the ability to quickly connect with teens. This is a nonjudgmental and safe place to express yourself. Recognizing that teens don't live in vacuums, I understand the need to connect parents to the process. I take a collaborative and supportive stance in my approach to therapy. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal psychotherapy, solution focused counseling, and mindfulness based interventions. Please know there is no "one sizes fits all in counseling" so rest assured I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

Growing up can be hard. If you are ready to take that important step towards change I'm here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Michelle has been instrumental in helping my daughter find tools to help her navigate through issues, feel less anxious, gain confidence, and improve relationships. Her transparency while protecting her counseling relationship with my daughter allows me to be informed of her progress while building and maintaining my daughter’s trust. She is very responsive to my questions and is proactive about reaching out and checking in with me. My daughter enjoys meeting with her and I would highly recommend her services.
