About me

Good day and allow me to introduce myself. My name is Michael H. Feldler, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a trained individual, family, group, trauma, and addiction/process specialist. I have over thirty-four years of experience working with children, adults, and family's in a variety of settings. In addition to my clinical training, I have for the past fourteen years worked as a supervisor in a college-based mental health clinic. Additionally, I am an experienced clinician/therapist working with children and families in acute distress or at risk. I have clinical experience and training working with trauma, suicide assessment, and process addiction, and codependency relationships. I am skilled in psychodynamic, client-centered, a variety of behavioral treatment modalities, interrelation, motivational, and family modalities. I believe in the importance of listening to what is being said, recognizing the relevance of motivation towards healing, and providing a safe and secure space to relate both thoughts and feelings. Often times what brings you into treatment or therapy is just the tip of the iceberg and with exploration we can work on both the direct causes as well as the underlying measures towards health and personal growth. The essence of life is to feel complete, reduce loneliness, and isolation, and ultimately minimize those influences that prevent us from being "the person(s) we want to be." I look forward to hearing from you, establishing a positive and secure relationship and working on what brings you to a helping environment.

Prof. Feldler is a really calm, respectful and caring therapist. He has a lot of insights and shares them in a non-judgmental way. At the same time, he is always very appreciative for me as the client too. He helps me think about myself in a deeper manner. I also really like that near the end of every session, he would schedule the next session for continuity.

Prof Felder genuinely cares for me & my wellbeing. He listens and remembers my concerns and struggles and helps me to work through them in a way that I may not have seen on my own. I look forward to speaking with him weekly. He has a gift for what he does and I so greatly appreciate that he shares it with me. He is respectful, professional, polite, & kind in his approach and that makes me feel comfortable to tell him everything that is weighing heavily upon me. He has helped me a great deal and I know he will continue to do so. I have recommended him to my friend, Patty Wilkinson, who has recently began therapy with teencounseling.com & I cannot wait to see the positive impact it has on her life as it has had on mine! I cannot recommend him enough & words just cannot possibly express my gratitude. I’m so glad I was assigned him and he to me. Perfect placement. Thank you.

Professor Feldler is extremely in tune with his expertise and not only provides a neutral third-party view but finds the little things that make a person tick and becomes someone you feel comfortable to reach out to. I’ve been to therapy multiple different times and this is the one time I feel I can and WANT to continue. Highly recommend.

As sad as I am that our time abruptly came to an end I wouldn’t be where I am today with out Mike’s Guidance and understanding. He’s been with me through some very intense periods of my life and helped me not only build the skills I needed to succeed but also the confidence to be me in all areas of my trauma. I hope when things are financially easier I can return

Prof Felder is great! Knowledgeable, insightful, patient and a wonderful sense of humor.

Written on Sep 19, 2021 after therapy with Michael for 3 weeks on issues concerning stress, anxiety, self esteem, and career difficulties

It's amazing what he remembers. Either he takes great notes, or his memory is incredible. He listens and tries to get me to think about what I can do to help myself without him telling me outright. But, after a little bit of me struggling and giggling oddly, he will explain why I do what I do.

Written on Sep 11, 2021 after therapy with Michael for 2 weeks on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, sleeping disorders, and self esteem

In the few weeks of knowing Prof. Feldler he is the only therapist I've known that has actually gotten me to think outside the box, to really get into the roots of what's causing a lot of my anxiety and depression. I'm still learning everyday but very thankful that he gave me another way to look at things.

Work with me!
