About me
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Clinical Psychology. I have been working as a therapist since 2013.
I have primarily worked with teens ages 13-19 in the last 7 years. My goal is to help teens feel seen, heard and figure out what their goals are for themselves. It's so hard being a teen these days and so much pressure, it's important to have a place to feel free to talk about what's going on.
I have experience working with different ages, ethnicities, SOGIE and socio economics. In my time as a therapist I've worked with a wide range of.concerns including trauma, depression, anxiety, anger, and communication issues.
My main focus is to create a space to feel heard and supported. I start with a Client Centered approach to develop the connection and help you feel safe.
I look forward to working with you!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Melinda Miller. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Melinda is AMAZING!! What I like about her is that we both shared the same faith and so with my approval we incorporated faith into my sessions which is meaningful to me. She is well versed in so many theories and providing therapeutic support for my needs was also a plus. Her having cultural competency and sensitivity was another reason why I respected and appreciated my sessions with her as I am African American and was unsure if we would mesh but we did and I’m grateful for that as well.
Melinda takes the time to really get to know me and understand things from my perspective. I love how honest and informative she is, and she is such a breath of fresh air to talk to!
Very attentive and knows how to provide solutions for problems in and outside of work
Melinda has changed my entire life in the short period of time of knowing her . She makes me feel safe and comfortable and especially heard . I recommend Melinda to anybody getting into therapy or scared to start .
Melinda is a very kind hearted and understanding person. She helped me understand the trauma I had experienced was real. It answered so many questions for me. She believed in everything I said, and never made me feel small or unimportant. I truly appreciate the support that she has given me.
Love her!
Melinda Miller has been a great fit for my daughter and is easily available and responsive to all messages. You would be lucky to have Melinda as your therapist.
Melinda is very responsive, very caring and not afraid to confront you on things she feels like you are avoiding. She challenges you to tackle your problems and gives you so many tools as well as worksheets to help track/ manage whatever you need help with the most. She is so kind and caring I truly look forward to every session. She has made seeking therapy not such a scary word or thing to do.
