About me

I am a master's level licensed mental health counselor with over 20 years experience working with children, adolescents and families, with a special interest in gifted children. I hold additional certifications in gifted education, elementary education, education leadership and national board certification in school counseling. I have received training in art therapy at the Ringling School of Art and Design. I am skilled at helping children learn to identify, understand and respond to thoughts and emotions more effectively resulting in improved self awareness, interpersonal relationships and overall well being. I utilize a variety of therapeutic models in my practice including Solutions Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness. I use a variety of techniques in my practice including literature, journaling, art and play therapy in these processes. I work with children and adolescents experiencing difficulties behaviorally, socially and academically and families experiencing parenting challenges or changes in the family unit involving divorce or loss.
