About me
Hi, my name is Martha McKenzie and I am a License Clinical Social Worker. After many years of marriage, working and having a baby, I went through a divorce. I decided that I needed to finish my education, something that I had always wanted to achieve. I received both my BSW and MSW at Florida State University in 1994 and 1995, respectively. I have worked with clients with many concerns including, depression, anxiety, stress, OCD, ADHD, trauma, emotional abuse, domestic violence, parenting problems, and teenagers and adults with alcohol and drug use.
I have always enjoyed working with teenagers with ADHD, in particular. Through the years, I have attended workshops that have taught me about ADHD and how this disorder will affect children into their teens and adulthood.
I learned to use Mindfulness Breathing for myself and teach it to all my clients so that they too may begin to benefit from their practicing and using this tool.
Teenagers need to be taught direction, self-esteem, confidence and most importantly, shown support. To a teenager, having ADHD, can be very debilitating. If you know that your teenager has ADHD, I will help them to learn about this disorder, or as the well-known Dr. Hallowell likes to say, learn about the "trait" they have. They will learn not only how to live with ADHD, but how to thrive with ADHD. I will help your teenager to ROAR!

I’m satisfied with Martha’s professionalism and the ways that she addressed my concerns. She is practical but at the same time shows empathy on the challenges and situations. I highly recommend her services!
Martha is amazing. She listens and helps me see how I can change my way of thinking about myself and understanding I can't change the past, but I can have a say in my future.

She listens to me and gives great advice on how to cope with what I'm going through.
It has been helpful to have someone want to coach me in a new way. I have always had therapists who make me dive into my whole past. So far we are exploring at my pace and that’s very enjoyable.
She’s pretty good. She understands what I’m saying and also give advice.

I answered backwards to the first question about her timely replies. She is awesome and always responds in time. Her replies are always encouraging and helpful. I love her communication style.
I look forward to our talks every week!
Martha is a wonderful listener and gives excellent feedback. She has proven to be a trusted resource to my teen-daughter, who prioritizes her appointments with Martha. She (Martha) also has given my daughter tools to be successful in her therapy. She is a wonderful lady with a heart for helping.
Martha is the best therapist I ever had. I used to always quit therapy after a couple of weeks with someone but I am sticking with her because she is really good. She has so much empathy. She is able to help me understand myself. I am healing.
Martha is a wonderful counselor.
I have only just started working with Martha and already she gets me. She understands and validates my feelings. She doesn’t just agree with everything but just validating how I am feeling is huge. She reaches out and checks on me which is refreshing as well. I am looking forward to working with her more.
