All of us need support at different times through our lives. The ability to see this and ask for help is a powerful statement of owns health. My intention is to create safe and compassionate space for each individual to examine their life experiences and support them as they embark on a journey toward self discovery and wellness. As a therapist and a mom of two grownup children, I know the challenges and growing-pains that young people have to face on their journey toward autonomy and self reliance.
For the last 18 years I have worked closely with children, youth, and families from diverse backgrounds in Butte County, San Fransisco, and Napa. The last ten years at Napa Valley College Student Health Center I had the privilege to support and learn from students representing various cultural, ethnic, and racial communities. This experience provided me with a great appreciation and understanding of young people who have to balance personal, academic and in many cases work demands.
Issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, loneliness, grief, life transitions, relationship conflict are the most common problems that my young clients struggle with. My approach is holistic and I utilize variety of therapeutic modalities (CBT, ACT, Client centered, Psychodynamic, Mindfulness) to help access personal strengths, trust in you own personal inner guidance to lead you through difficult times.
