Hello! My name is Dr. Lorena Fulton.
At some point in our life, we all find a need for a professional social worker. Whether you find yourself arguing with your child and need help fixing it or if your child is in trouble and you want help figuring it out, a Master’s level social work can help. If you feel stuck and want expert guidance that will help you move forward, reach out to me and we’ll figure it out.
I earned my bachelor’s degree at the University of Wyoming, my master's degree at the University of Denver in Colorado, and my doctorate degree at Capella University. All three degrees are in Social Work. After completing my undergraduate degree, I began working with adults with developmental disabilities. Since earning my master's degree, I have worked in both public and private schools (with elementary and high school students), with domestic violence issues, with adults and adolescents in the correctional system, in community mental health as a therapist, with EAP, and more. I have served as a clinician, a clinical supervisor and an agency director.
I enjoy serving in my Church, walking, gardening, raising chickens (:)), and spending time with my family. I am looking forward to getting to know you as we work together in this online journey of growing and learning.
I have served as a generalist clinical social worker (Master's degree level) since 1993 and have vast experience with diverse populations and personal challenges. My strengths are compassion, patience, and focus on improved outcomes for individuals and families. I am primarily grounded in theory based on the ecological systems model, strengths-based theory, and a quality of life approach.

In the short time I have been receiving counseling from Dr. Fulton, she has been receptive to my needs, helpful in her advice, and professional in her approach. Although it may be early on in my experience with Dr. Fulton I am confident that I will obtain a high degree of quality counseling services on an ongoing basis.
My daughter and I (she is 16) have had two sessions with Dr Fulton with a few more planned. Thankfully our issues were not so complex as to require lots of sessions. My daughter is going through the standard stuff that teenagers to who want to be independent and I was struggling with the type of behaviour she exhibited towards me - untidiness, rudeness, excessive time on social media etc etc. Dr Fulton got to the nub of our issues straight away. She made me understand that my daughter was finding her way between childhood and adulthood and she gave us both the tools to work with each other to resolve our differences in a way which didn't upset the others feelings. I am already seeing progress! My daughter really values Dr Fulton's insight and advice, so much so that in a recent fallout where we disagreed with each others views her instant response was that we should talk it through with Dr Fulton to hear what she thinks. For my daughter to have such faith in her counsellor is a testament to how good Dr Fulton is. She listens, she understands and had reasoned answers to the concerns we both were raising. We are unlikely to need more sessions due to the massive progress we have made in a very short term thanks to Dr Fulton's advise and guidance. We'll miss her advice and guidance but we know where to come if we ever need her again.
My experience with Dr. Lorena has been great. I understand myself better through her analysis and she's been helpful in helping me to overcome my anxiety and emotional instabilities.
Dr Fulton has made me feel very comfortable and has been very approachable when I was having second thoughts about counselling. She understands the concerns and identifies the areas which require working on. Would definitely recommend her expertise.
Dr. Fulton is an amazing therapist. She understands, empathizes and is fantastic. I have enjoyed working with her so far.
