I am a Mental Health Counselor Licensed in both Virginia and West Virginia with experience in direct care for over 30 years. I have experience in working with individuals in their later teen years and am open to working with younger teens. I have had patients who are still in high school. I understand the issues teens experience both professionally and as a parent. I have worked with individuals, families and groups. I specialize in working with Depression, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective disorder, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD and personality disorders. I particularly enjoy helping people gain hope and recovery thru personal change. Frankly I have found that the only sustainable hope comes from God, our Father. I have helped numerous individuals with Mental Health Recovery, Caregiver Stress, and problem solving to manage their illnesses. I routinely pray for all of my patients.
My counseling style is warm and nurturing. I enjoy partnering with my patients to work toward change. I believe in being genuine and meeting my patients where they are. I have a very much patient centered approach and do not believe in judgement. I normally use a variety of techniques including Cognitive Behavioral, Rational Emotive Therapy, Solution Focused and Mental Health Recovery and Wellness approaches. I will work with you to set up an individual plan for change and care. Together we will work toward your goals.
It takes a great deal of courage to admit that what you have been doing is not working . It takes even more courage to ask for help. If you are at this point, I would really like to partner with you.

Lisa has been able to form a connection with my daughter that other therapists weren't able to do. My daughter is more relaxed, confident and I can see her using what Lisa is teaching her. I'm so happy to have found her!
She is excellent. Well balanced and understanding. She offers real world experience to help relate what I am experiencing.
I can’t come up with the right words to describe how much I cherish my sessions with Lisa. She has become apart of my daily life. Her resources, worksheets and suggestions have guided me and helped me walk a clear path. She is flexible and always lets you know she’s a call away. She is kind and a great listener.
Lisa is a great listener. She is someone I’ve learned to trust with my feelings and I can honestly express myself to her. And that means a lot in getting the help I need.
I enjoy Lisa’s approach to listening to me and sharing resources. She is transparent in her communication and also accommodates for any schedule changes. I appreciate her honesty with me. She is a gem
Lisa is very attentive and always listens to me when I have something to say. She is down to earth and is very honest about her stance.
I’ve only had two sessions with her but I love how open she is and kind hearted she is about my feelings towards things others aren’t.
Lisa is awesome. She's patient, caring, and never judgmental. She has great advice as well. Highly recommended!
Lisa listens, she doesn’t push anything upon me. She is kind and gentle, seems to know what I need and she understands/cares about me. I am deeply grateful for her.
Lisa is very good at listening, she is supportive and provides valuable resources to help me overcome my issues. I also like the way she shares personal experiences, this makes it easier for me to open up to her. She is also very flexible with her time, when I request a time, other than the slots she has available, she will try to accommodate me. She is warm, personable and professional, I would definitely recommend her as a counselor.
Understand what my daughter needs and listens to her and provides a safe space.
I've only had a couple of live sessions with Lisa, but it's going very well. I'm not great at talking about myself and my problems, but she is helping me with that. She seems very attentive and I believe she cares about my issues. I'm hoping this therapy will help me. It's something I've needed for years.
Lisa is a wonderful, honest listener. She always offers helpful resources, and her wealth of knowledge is an incredible asset to have by your side to help you along your journey. She’s also an awesome person!
I am fairly new here to teen counseling, and I want to say that Lisa Bradford has been so beyond helpful to me, even from the first visit. She listens, understands and always has multiple ways to work through anything I am going through. From the first visit I felt like I had known her from years.
I really like my counselor! She's helped me through a tough time, and I feel as though I'm getting much better.
Miss Lisa is a joy. Chatting with her brought value to my life. I can tell by her expertise the type of lives she has changed and her honesty gives me hope for me. I love direct and that's what is needed.
Lisa has provided me with so many tools to reflect inward about my issues. She’s given me renewed hope and passion that I can overcome my issues! I highly recommend working with her. Her respectful warm atmosphere coupled with the right tools is a path for success!
Ms.Bradford has definitely helped me take a turn for the right direction. I used to be weary about therapy until I signed up and it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. She is a great listener and she will show you the proper tools to feel better and add them to your routine.
Super great and kind, very easy to talk to!
Lisa has been critical in my ability to recover from and receive the mental healing I deserve. I can't believe I got so lucky.
Lisa has been very helpful in listening with acceptance. She was comfortable to talk about herself too, unlike other therapists who may just keep silent. Her worksheets were very timely and relevant. There was no judgement, and my work with her was very helpful and something I wouldn't have done alone in this time.
Lisa has been a great help to me in my time of need! She asks questions that help me look deeper into myself and my actions. She is very patient and creates a warm atmosphere that makes me feel comfortable to open up.
Lisa is great! She always listens to your needs and if you get off topic she always connects the conversation back to what you should be talking about which makes opening up a lot easier. When I talk to Lisa I feel like she really cares about what I’m going through and about my path to recovery. She often celebrates small achievements which makes me feel more confident moving forward.
Ms. Bradford is a wonderful, intelligent, and caring counselor. I have such respect for her and I feel so respected by her. She makes me feel comfortable and provides me with excellent techniques to improve my mental health. Her kindness also goes a very long way. She quite literally betters my life and I am so grateful for her.
In a very short time Lisa has provided me with great tailored support to help me navigate my symptoms and helps me play a positive roll in my mental health. She is responsive and I find the platform (phone/computer) great for getting fresh thoughts out in a timely fashion.
