I am a clinical social worker licensed in Massachusetts with over 20 years of experience helping teens and adults improve their mental health and wellbeing. I worked as an Army Mental Health Specialist from 2001 to 2009, helping service members and their families in the US and overseas. I then worked for eight years as a Mental Health Intensive Case Manager with the Veterans Affairs Healthcare systems in Massachusetts and Hawaii. For the last four years I have been a responder on the Veterans and Military Crisis Line, where, believe it or not, I had the opportunity to speak to many teens who called the Veterans option in crisis. Through these experiences, I have not only gained expertise helping service members, but also a deep understanding of many mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, family problems, career challenges, and trauma. I have a deep empathy for teens from all walks of life and believe in the power of setting goals in therapy to improve one's experience.
My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion and I also have a sense of humor. My therapy approach combines cognitive-behavior mindfulness and a focus on goals and solutions.
Although your life challenges are unique, there is truly nothing new under the sun and you are not alone. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Lee Kandlbinder. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Lee have a lot of experience! I trust him and his expertise. He’s very practical and doesn’t waste time. He’s empathic and can see the big picture. I appreciate him and all he’s done for me and my partner. As two strong professionals of color, we wanted someone with a multicultural approach who understood trauma and the family structure. He’s the man!
Lee is a fantastic therapist with a gift for helping others
I’ve been to therapy on and off for the past 5 years. I almost lost faith in it because I was never able to find a therapist I felt comfortable sharing with. Lee was the first therapist I consistently returned to. I look forward to continuing my meetings with him and can’t recommend him enough.
Lee is a great therapist to talk to! He’s a wonderful listener and exudes warmth in his manner and communication skills.
My daughter has met with Lee twice. Lee is approachable and has a style that allows one to feel at ease making it much more likely for the individual in therapy to open up. I found Lee to be very pleasant, approachable and a clear communicator.
I really enjoy speaking with Lee!
