About Me

Circumstantially, there are numerous reasons as to why individuals reach out to professionals such as myself. Similarly, this is my primary reason for choosing to educate and establish my credential as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, so that when an individual seek support, I can provide emotional support and effective guidance. Over the span of the past five years, I was able to develop a deep understanding of the needs of children and families across the life span, which I believe will assist me with the delivery of excellent service. I have assisted children, adults, couples, and families with life transitions, and mapping out strategies to better their overall social, emotional, and relational wellbeing.

My areas of expertise include:

• Depression
• Stress and Anxiety
• ADD/ADHD
• Relationship Issues
• Family Conflict
• Trauma and Abuse
• Coping with Grief and Loss
• Multigenerational and Racial Trauma
• Motivation, Self Esteem, and Confidence
• Anger Management

In addition, my therapeutic approach for practice is a blend of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and solution-focused questioning, which provides psychoeducation on how individuals’ thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns may affect self-reflecting and relationships with others. Another key element of my practice is to highlight how trauma can affect individuals’ viewpoints towards future goals.

Without a doubt, I will patiently listen and walk humbly alongside with you as we explore the best tactics for your life future.

Equally important, I want you to understand that it is normal to feel afraid, uncertain or lonely when life is not going according to your plans. On a positive note, my services that I offer will tailor expectations for us working together to come up with an effective plan that is personalize to your actual needs.

LeVernne is strait to the point, direct with her so each, productive with her time, knows how to guid my sessions by listening intently, I can see where we are going moving forward, she asks me where I would like to focus which is great I don’t like being bossed around, she is not overly empathetic, she acknowledges my pain and my strengths, I feel clear after talking to her.

LaVonne Ricks is amazing! She was immediately responsive to my needs and had a plan to help me heal by the end of our first session. I end my sessions feeling more and more supported and hopeful for the future. Would definitely recommend.

LaVonne understands the basis of my emotional needs and responds to them accordingly. Her wisdom and insight have been more effective than other counselors I have met with.

I really like that she takes the time to understand the why behind issues so that we can work on them better together. It may take a bit longer- but I think it is more effective and has a stronger sense of direction.
