About me
I am a licensed professional counselor with 9 years of experience working as a counselor in a rural area. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, anger problems, career challenges, OCD and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. I have worked with teens with concerns of bullying, self harm, suicidal ideation, and abandonment.
My counseling style is caring, warm, and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines positive psychology, solution focused, cognitive-behavioral, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, trauma focused, client focused, and dialectical behavior therapy. My approach is based on how to help you move forward in your life, work through past issues, and figure out how to make a treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I believe that therapy does not have to be intimidating and serious all the time to be effective and help you improve the way you feel.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

Laura is incredible - I feel really lucky to have her as my therapist!
Our therapist is awesome. My daughter really likes her and opens up to her.
Laura is a kind, thoughtful and compassionate therapist. She validates my thoughts and feelings and makes me feel heard. Her guidance has helped me to work through complex traumas and with her help, I am making progress towards my mental health goals.
Laura has been great to work with. We're making great progress.
She is a good listener and usually comes up with good suggestions for ways to move forward. I do not think I am the easiest person to coach so I give her credit for being patient and making suggestions that help me move forward.
Laura has been very patient and thoughtful in her approach. I am grateful that she has been willing to go above and beyond to help and meet my needs.
I left my in person counselor for teencounseling.com after a few sessions with Laura. She’s been empathetic and has worked with me to set concrete goals for each week. It’s a refreshing approach and one that works very well for me. I love that she’s responsive to the journal entries I share with her and we have them as references during our sessions. I’m very happy to be working with Laura on the teencounseling.com platform.
