About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin with over ten years of counseling experience. I have worked with individuals, both adults and children; families; and couples with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, parenting struggles, and difficulties with life transitions. I specialize in resolving past traumas and building healthy coping skills.

I practice person centered therapy and am a firm believer in recovery. My therapy practice is warm and welcoming and I want to help everyone I work with to reach their goals. I use a variety of therapy techniques in my counseling, based on the needs of the person I am working with. My therapy approaches are all evidence based and include cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, emotion focused, and brief intervention. I have specific training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is a trauma therapy specifically for children and adolescents. I work with families to set goals and develop an approach that is right for you and your situation.

Though I believe it takes a village to raise a child, I also believe parents are the most important people in their children's lives. I believing in supporting parents to be healthy leaders in their families. I request parental involvement in my work with young people, and provide support to parents to understand the mental health struggles of their children and to provide the firm foundation their children need to heal.

I am excited you are considering counseling. It takes courage to reach out when life gets complicated. I look forward to meeting with you and determining together if I am a good fit to assist you at this time.

Thank you for reaching out, I look forward to talk with you!

My daughter has had a couple of therapists, but Kristin has by far helped her the most. She really honed in on what I feel was weighing the heaviest on my daughter and works with her. She is very communicative with my as her parent and is a very positive person to deal with. I have seen positive change in our daughter since starting with Kristin, and am so happy we decided to try teencounseling.com.

I love my sessions and I love my counselor. I have had plenty in the past and couple on teen counseling but nothing where I felt this connected. Sometimes finding a counselor is hard, it can take time, but there are tons out there for everyone’s specific needs. They are all helpful and understanding and will guide you towards some relief. Especially Kristin. For the first time in 5 years, I feel heard.

Kristin is absolutely incredible! She's great at having me focus on some of the main thoughts I'm working through, but they go off on many tangents to help me at an even deeper level. She has a very warm personality that allows me to talk openly about anything, which makes it so much easier to work through issues I'm dealing with.
