About me

In the area of adolescents, I feel like my respect for them really comes through. It is one of the most significant life transitions, and it can be really, really hard. I think of myself as a connector of communication between child and caregiver and can help to improve relationships. In therapy with me, your teen will have a safe place to process thoughts and feelings, as well as learn to express themselves in a productive way. Whether your teen is experiencing difficulty with peers, has trouble managing emotions, or is showing symptoms of depression and anxiety, I am here to help.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME
There are many things that led me to this work. To be honest, one of the main things is my personal struggle with trauma and anxiety, along with other major life obstacles. But I have found that my struggles have only helped me to identify and understand my clients so much more.
My education and experience have made me into the therapist I am today. My graduate work in psychology and marriage and family therapy at California Lutheran University is only part of what I bring to my therapy practice. I have been fortunate enough to have had such rich and diverse experiences that I draw from everyday. Whether working with homeless youth, couples in crisis, or traumatized children, I have been exposed to, and have developed a deep respect for the human experience.

I've been using teen counseling for about a month now. I was apprehensive at first to find the right therapist via survey questions, but I think I lucked out with Kimberly! I feel safe in our sessions to open talk about whatever I need to. As always I think part of our success has been open communication on both sides. I'm just glad I found the right therapist on the first try!

We are just getting started with Kimberly but had a great first session with her--my teenage son talked more about this feelings than I've heard in months.

Kimberly Sampson is an absolutely amazing person. From the beginning, she has engaged with my in a timely and efficient manner and is very supportive of my mental health journey. She makes herself available for live chats and video chats as well. Normally when I send a message, she replies quickly. I couldn’t ask for a better counselor.
