About me

Hello!
My name is Kiana Gadson, LCSW. I am a licensed clinical social worker, residing in the sunshine state of Florida. I have been practicing in the field of social work for the past 10 year, specializing in working from a mindfulness (cognitive-behavioral) perspective. I specialize in working with teens and young adults, and have done so in multiple arenas including, but not limited to, the school setting, foster care system and private practice. I have extensive experience working with adolescence within urban communities, who may be considered "at-risk" due to different social and economic barriers they are facing. In addition, I have worked with both teen and adult survivors of domestic violence, and teenage survivors of human trafficking.
I truly believe that the mind is a beautifully created thing that can, unfortunately, take us to places where we don’t exactly want to be. I believe that in order to address our outward behaviors, we have to learn how our minds work; what we truly believe about ourselves and the situations impacting us, and how to effectively communicate what we are inwardly trying to say.
It’s hard to take a deep breath when sitting in a choking cloud of smoke. I have found that both in my own life and in clinical practice that by practicing from a mindfulness perspective, keeping account of what our bodies are feeling and experiencing in various situations, we are able to calm the fires of our minds to be able to fully process what our authentic beliefs may be, how they impact our overall perspective and how that perspective impacts our behaviors.
As a Christian, I believe in the gift of freedom. As a clinician, I know the work that is sometimes required in order to truly walk in that space.
There’s nothing like being free. I look forward to working alongside you to achieve your goals of experiencing freedom in the different areas of your life you may feel bound.

Kiana has simy been such a valuable support in my healing journey and I thank her for simply just being her and reminding me of the sime things, such as, we are humans and we are meant to feel. I learned a lot, cried a lot, and even surprised myself at the feelings and memories that we discussed and I'm proud of myself for allowing me to be able to do that, which is something that prior me would never be proud of.

Kiana taught me a lot, like I mentioned before but the biggest yet simplest thing that she taught was that it is ok to cry and to feel our emotions and learn from our triggers.

I appreciate you Kiana and so does MJ and if we ever need you again I know that you're a click away

My daughter has had her most success since having Kiana as a counselor in comparison to previous counselors. The questions I just answered in the survey did not all apply to me and are not a full reflection on the service Kiana has provided.

Kiana is definitely amazing. I’m making it through a really tough time with her help and I’m so grateful for her and teen counseling!

Work with me!
