About Me

"I want to be your child's last therapist."

That was my goal when I led a team of cutting edge counselors who specialized in "at risk youth." Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and a Family Systems approach, we got great results. Many of my clients went on to live happy and healthy lives. Although I have never understood why teenagers talk to me so freely. I am sure it has something to do with having a wise, trusted friend. I can help your child. I can help you, too. I understand how it feels. When you child is struggling, it can be difficult. You can feel demoralized, defeated, depressed. I can help. I have the strategies and support that you need.

I have an excellent education from Palm Beach Atlantic University. I have a wealth of experience. I have over three decades of experience as a husband, father, grandfather, youth pastor, counselor and university professor. I have worked in the church, private practice (in Florida and the Bahamas), community mental health (specializing in crisis and families with at-risk-adolescents), foster care, substance abuse, juvenile justice and the prisons. I have maintained my relevance by teaching at the university level, advising a best-selling author on the psychological aspects of his book, and serving as a consultant to other mental health agencies. I have wonderful experience working with anxiety, depression, anger, parenting issues, challenging children and teenagers, grief, trauma, substance use issues, family and relationship issues, LGBT issues, and other issues and concerns. I have helped my clients find peace with themselves, with others and in their situations. I have helped my clients find happiness, even amid loss. I have helped my clients find belonging and love in healthy and supportive relationships. I have helped my clients increase their ability to succeed by changing their thinking.

One of the foundations of my life and my work was written by M. Scott Peck in The Road Less Travelled. He wrote, “Life is difficult. This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths… Life is a series of problems. Do we want to moan about them or solve them? Do we want to teach our children to solve them?” Let’s start today to solve some of life’s problems and to teach our children to do the same.

Kerry is a compassionate, kind, and empathetic professional. He listened well, provided kind and thoughtful guidance, and clearly has a passion for helping people. His broad manner of counseling experiences have clearly equipped him to handle many different types of issues, and I can’t thank him enough for his help.

I have only been working with Kerry for a short time, but in that time he has made me feel comfortable and for the first time I feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel. I am so glad I got him as my therapist. He really cares about helping and approaches things in a structured and gentle way. Would recommend him to anyone.

Kerry has helped tremendously in my healing process. He works hard to create a safe space in which i feel comfortable even when dealing with difficult topics. He listens intently and shows genuine concern for his clients paired with his upbeat personality he makes therapy something I look forward to. Id recommend him to anyone seeking guidance and perspective on the issues they face.

Kerry is an incredible counsellor. There's something deeply healing about someone who understands and asks the right questions about the problems you are facing and you'll find that in Kerry. He draws from so much experience and has great examples and resources, he also checks in regularily outside of sessions, which is fantastic for reinforcement and making his counsel feel more like a dialogue. Paired with his great personality, it makes the whole therapy experience much more humanistic and personal rather than something coldly clinical. Would recommend Kerry to anyone. Great work!

Kerry has been the best therapist I've had on teen counseling. I'm able to be open with him and I feel he understands me. He replies back promptly. I find his therapeutic approach to be friendly yet honest. I enjoy his stories and insights. I look forward to our sessions each week.

My husband and I are both seeing Kerry and we are very happy overall. He listens, understands and provides great insight without belittling our feelings. He really does meet us where we are at. Highly recommend.

Kerry is the most amazing Consular I spoke to. He understands directly your concerns and asks you deep questions because he will be so much focused on your case but also analyse very well. You will feel comfortable speaking to him from the first session. I tried other Consulars but non was a good as him, the only issue that he may not be available all of time even though he managed to add me a session before the end of my subscrition, I'm really grateful to him. He has so much experience that helps him to identify the problem you have and send you so much helpful documents and check on you almost on a daily basis that other Consulars don't. I will definitely recommand him to any one needs a psychologist and myself I kept his name to choose him again in the future whenever I can affore new sessions. One more thing in very short time he could help me to come over my issues. Really good job Kerry and Thank you so so much again.
