About me
Since earning my master’s degree in social work from the University of South Florida in 2012, my career path has led me to gain experience working with individuals faced with a multitude of mental health diagnoses. For nearly a decade I have been working with people suffering from depression, anxiety schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anger management, low self-esteem, and trauma related issues. I have extensive experience working with adolescents ages 13-19 on issues surrounding anger/conflict resolution skills, delinquency, court ordered evaluation and treatment, substance abuse, school related issues, behavioral issues, self-esteem, family relationships, and independent living skills.
The teenage years can be a scary time filled with fear and uncertainty. They often feel their concerns are not taken seriously and that their voice, thoughts and opinions do not matter. My goal is to ensure that after every session, your teenager feels heard, understood, and validated. I aim to help teenagers gain confidence navigating life's challenges and for them to feel they are not alone and someone does care.
My approach with teenagers is straight-forward, down to earth, and realistic. I believe that when working with adolescents of any age, there MUST be parent and/or caregiver involvement and participation. That being said, my teenaged clients can take comfort in knowing that I will maintain their confidentiality, I will not pass judgement, and I will always treat them with respect. Having been a troubled youth once myself, I understand what they are going through and believe that I can help.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Kelsey Hackler. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
My therapist is a caring, intelligent woman who has the innate ability to understand the way people are impacted by the difficulties in life. She is wise and compassionate.
Kelsey is an amazing therapist. She is always finding new resources to incorporate into our sessions. I appreciate her insight and feel like she listens to everything that I have to say. I have made so much progress since starting to work with Kelsey and teen counseling.
Kelsey is very responsive and always gives me ample time to work through my thoughts. She does a great job balancing listening, offering advice, and giving resources when needed.
Kelsey is indisputably the reason I recommend this app time and time again. Her knowledge and patience has not only touched me but has helped my mental health more in one session than any book, article, or even person has in my whole life.
I am so grateful to have been paired with Kelsey. I came into therapy with no prior experience and not knowing what I would get from it. Kelsey was able to make me feel very welcome while also helping me to work through issues that were blocking me from living my life to the fullest.
She’s awesome
We went through several therapists before finding the right fit for my son. Kelsey has been wonderful.
Dr. Hackler is great. She listens and gives great techniques and perspectives to combat negative feelings and thoughts. I've only had her for about 3 weeks and I get excited to go to our sessions to talk because she really helps to change my perspective and feel better.
Kelsey is very attentive to her clients' needs and concerns and offers supportive guidance and techniques for improving their overall quality of life. I highly recommend Kelsey as a therapist and trust her expertise.
I’ve been with Miss Kelsey for several months treating Complex PTSD originating from severe and persistent physical and mental child abuse. This has been a debilitating disorder for most of my life, and I was prevented from achieving my potential in all areas of my life. Miss Kelsey has fostered rapid improvement and alleviation of much of the suffering that once defined my entire life. We still have a lot to work on, but I implicitly trust Kelsey as my guide. She is a compassionate and genuine person, and it’s these traits as a clinician that are helping me begin to nurture compassion for myself, slowly but surely.
Kelsey is very knowledgeable and practices an array of therapy techniques that have already helped me process and accept certain things I've been holding onto for a long time. She has provided me with resources and handouts that've helped me process some of the hardest obstacles of my life. She is compassionate, understanding, and attentive on our calls. She gives me the time and space I need to process my feelings, and thought processes. She provides me with a new perspective. I very much recommend her.
I have been in therapy for over 10 years and am so excited to have found teencounseling.com. It is so much more affordable, and flexible, I couldn't ask for more b
Kelsey is amazing! I only have positive things to say. 10/10 experience with her!
Kelsey is attentive, personable, responsive, and easy to talk to. We had a connection immediately and she has offered great suggestions to overcome some real struggles in my life. Highly recommend!
Kelsey is very knowledgeable, with a range of therapy tools and techniques to share. I’m slowly starting to feel better, and I am grateful. Kelsey is also a very empathetic and straightforward communicator, which makes me feel supported, too.
She made me feel very validated and helped me figure out an answer I’ve been looking for almost my whole life.
I just started with Kelsey a couple of weeks ago and so far, I love her! She listens to me, she asks questions, she wants to get to know me better so that she can help me understand and teach me the right way to cop with my "issues". I have a lot of faith in Kelsey and I feel very comfortable talking with her. I feel as though I am heard and that I mean something to someone.
Kelsey is a very talented active listening therapist with lots of great techniques and tools to help you work through any sort of trauma or personal hold up. She’s thoughtful, intelligent and kind and I highly recommend her!
Kelsey is at once supportive, genuine, and a great listener and processor of motivations. I had not expected to bond with a therapist so quickly and share my fears and hopes. Kelsey makes it easy to get to the issue at hand and help you focus and hold you accountable to the inner work we need to do to take back our health and find our peace!
Thanks, Kelsey!
