I am a dually licensed clinical social worker in both California and New Mexico with over 20 years of providing mental health counseling services, including nearly 17 years specifically in middle and high school settings. I work with individuals to address a variety of issues, such as: general life stress, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, parenting, physical/health, caregiver support, career/work, communication, relationships, mindfulness, loneliness and self-care. I also have worked with 13-17 year-olds to address issues, such as: ADHD, peer-conflicts, teacher conflicts, depression, anxiety, school phobia, school refusal, social anxiety, separation anxiety, somatic complaints, teen pregnancy, bullying, and self-esteem.
I am young at heart, approachable, warm, reflective and curious in my therapeutic work. I value and practice compassion, empathy, respect, and humor. My approach combines client-centered, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral, and attachment based counseling, with special attention to life span development models. The stresses on today's parents and youth are at an all time high, with online learning and ever shifting academic, attendance, and infection prevention/control measures. I will work with you and your teen to co-create a relevant and helpful treatment plan to best address their needs.
I look forward meeting and working with your teen!

Always super kind and helpful!
Julie Tracy (LCSW) has shown her expertise in such a short time. She has worked with my daughter (13) and has also kept an open dialogue with me regarding her progress. She is very responsive and has also provided worksheets and other material, which has been an added bonus to help my daughter navigate her feelings and her current world relationships. Thank you Julie!
Julie is exceptional. She is thoughtful and supportive. She challenged my thinking in appropriate and necessary ways. She gave me specific work to do to take the reins with my own situation. She is a gifted counselor.
