About me
I am glad you are here. I have 8 years of direct clinical experience with a variety of needs and people and backgrounds. I received my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from University of Pennsylvania and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor through the state of Colorado. I am trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Through a person- centered, eclectic approach, I focus on building self efficacy with clients and providing skills to clients to implement as needed to ensure clients know they have the power to manage needs. These skills involve but are not limited to mindfulness skills, emotional regulation skills, distress tolerance skills, resource building and focus on reframing thoughts. I have worked extensively with clients of all ages and with a variety of needs including but not limited to depression, anxiety, trauma, and managing emotional content and stressors through difficult life experiences. I have worked in school settings and specifically with teenagers so I know that what you are experiencing at this time is very difficult. I want to truly listen to your unique needs and assist you in alleviating them. I offer a safe and confidential space to explore and grow. My goal is for you to be living your best life and knowing you have the skills and power to do this. I look forward to getting to know you and increasing your confidence and power.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Julie Anderson. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Julie offers great insight and asks the right questions to get at the root issue.
We have only had one session together but we were very impressed with her knowledge and shared information. We look forward to more sessions of growth with Julie.
Julie is incredible. She is thoughtful, honest, validating and friendly. She's like the one friend you can tell anything, except that you can tell her even the things you couldn't tell that friend, and you're not going to wear her out with your issues. I could't recommend Julie more.
Julie has an incredible wealth of expertise. Through our sessions with EMDR, we have been able to work through a lot of trauma and beliefs that had held me back since childhood. I enjoy having the flexibility of counseling online, with four kids and a busy home life it makes therapy and healing more accessible. I am so grateful for the work Julie and I have done so far.
Julie has given me some amazing resources to cope with anxiety and even though we only had less than a handful of sessions during my free membership, she provided so much!
We've only been working together for a couple of weeks now, but I can tell Julie will be able to help me work through my challenges.
Julie has been the best counselor we have seen by far. She truly cares to get to the root of the problem and figure out ways that will work for both parties instead of suggesting a one size fits all solution. She has truly gone above and beyond to help us and we are extremely grateful for her.
Julie is amazing!
Julie offers resources and techniques aligned with where I am and my intention. She is kind and supportive....working with Julie feels safe and empowering.
I feel comfortable and respected when speaking to Julie. I’ve been able to uncover and begin to solve issues in my relationship that seemed insurmountable before we started counseling.
Julie has been amazing during my process.
We appreciate the resources Julie has shared with us in our month of teencounseling.com. She also reaches out and checks in with us often and in our busy lives, this is appreciated. Her gentle and encouraging approach helps us keep our eye on our end goal of strengthening our relationship.
Julie has been amazing so far! She is extremely knowledgeable and has really helped my husband and I connect more. I am constantly impressed when we bring up new issues and she connects it to things we talked about weeks ago. She is intelligent, caring and very thoughtful in her practices. I have noting but great things to say.
Julie has been amazing, her varied techniques and knowledge in several different approaches to therapy have really helped me attack my issues from different directions and really get to the root of my wounds and do the hard work. I felt supported and safe the entire time, and am so grateful for her and this platform.
Julie is amazing. She truly hears what we’re saying and even helps clarifies when emotions are high. We love her!
Julie is understanding and patient with my partner and I. She is flexible on time with us and supportive.
Julie Anderson is absolutely wonderful. She is knowledgeable, caring, attentive, and great at her job. She’s easy to talk to and there’s no awkwardness or discomfort when sharing what’s on my mind.
I’ve been hesitant to do therapy but have wanted to do it for a while now. So far, it has been extremely helpful and it took a load off my back. A relief of tension. Julie is very helpful and I like the advice and help I’ve been getting.
I have already recommended this app and Julie! It’s been a real game changer to have someone so handy but that isn’t involved in my day to day; we live in a small community and town. It offers security and the confidentiality and I find myself opening up about my feelings easier.
Julie has been very responsive and supportive while helping me to find the tools to deal with emotional distress.
I feel very confident in Julie's expertise. She is very helpful in my needs and gives great advice for my struggles.
