About me

" As parents of teens, it is challenging and imperative that our children be exposed to all resources that can assist in developing that as they become adults. In this day and age, children and teens are exposed to media, technology and all to often forget to be children. Coping as a teenager today can be difficult with all the pressures of their peers and society. With this said, sometimes our children have a lower self esteem or anxiety disorders which can interfere in their lives. Talk therapy can assist them in lieu of or in addition to medication to help them cope in today's stressors of teenage years."

"I help my clients achieve confidence to use the tools necessary to meet life's challenges. Goals are extremely important to identify and increase self esteem. I am a certified cognitive behavioral therapist who can guide them to a new way of thinking and behavior to create a more positive outlook on life. My experience includes anxiety, substance abuse, eating disorders, and attention deficit disorder.

"This therapeutic relationship will empower them to make their own decisions and face any obstacle. I believe the majority of success in therapy is the rapport between the counselor and the client."

Dr Foxman performed a miracle. In a very complex situation, she worked closely and thoroughly with a teenager in a very fragile stage and brought her back to a confident positive person she was before troubles started. Dr Foxman is a very professional, dedicated specialist who can listen, understand and react in the most appropriate way.

My time with Dr. Jill Foxman has been absolutely amazing! Therapy was quite new to me but she made me feel comfortable and right at home right from the beginning. I learned so much about myself, more than I have in 27 years of my life and I thank her for that newfound introspection. She really cares about her patients and listens to you and although I am taking a break right now, I hope to have her as a counselor when I am back!

She helped me to feel more comfortable in my own skin and break bad habits. Also, she suggested lots of books and techniques which I found really useful. Thanks so much. I.C

Talking with Jill didn't feel like therapy but more like chatting to a friend even just after the first few sessions. She is very good at making you feel comfortable and after our sessions I always felt hopeful and uplifted. She was very supportive and encouraging and made sure to tell me she was always available any time if things went bad inbetween sessions, giving me the sense she genuinely cared for me! Jill was flexible working with large time differences and was always available to do a last minute switch if anything came up which was very useful. Jill put me at ease right away and was friendly but professional, I would highly recommend.

Doctor J. and I connected immediately and it was clear from the start that she has a world of experience and credentials backing her up. She explained to me how important it is to have good rapport with your therapist in order to open the lines up for meaningful communication, which is essential to talk therapy. The homework she assigned helped to change my perspective on things like being overly passive and avoiding conflict, dealing with feelings of shame, and the importance of re-parenting yourself after childhood trauma by teaching me how to be compassionate with myself. She has given me multiple resources to pursue outside of sessions and I am excited to continue seeing her. Her words are heartfelt and personal, and she made me feel special which is much more comforting than encounters I have had with therapy in the past. 10/10 Would definitely recommend this sweet, down-to-earth, tell-it-like-it-is therapist for all your mental health needs. :]

I would highly recommend this particular counselor. She listens well and provides good guidance as to what can be explored and how to improve whatever situation is occurring. In addition, she is very positive. That being said, as with any counselor, you have to do the work. If you do not do the work, there is no way you can improve. I wish you the best of luck in your journey.
