About me

I often say, "Therapists are not a one size fits all," and that it can be difficult to find a therapist that suits your needs, let alone choose the right therapist by reading a description of them.

If you're like me and enjoy the facts, here are mine: I graduated from Monmouth University with a Masters of Science in Mental and Clinical Health Counseling. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in three state as well as, a Licensed Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) in the state of New Jersey. I also am a National Certified Counselor (NCC), HIV Certified Counselor, and Disaster Response Crisis Counselor (DRCC). I have about ten years of experience working in various levels of care with mental health, substance abuse, and dual diagnosis clients.

Of my ten years of experience practicing counseling in the field, for three years I worked with children ranging from age five through nineteen completing crisis counseling in the emergency room. From my work with children and teens in crisis, I have realized the value of making therapy for this age group a collaborative approach with not only the family, but also, school systems and various other providers that may be involved with the child/teen already. I have experience facilitating individual and family therapy sessions as I have noticed the importance of supporting the entire family while still focusing on the needs of the client.

During sessions I utilize primarily cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy however, I believe that each client is unique and tailor my approach to be client centered. I am also certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and enjoy these skills in session. I focus on finding solutions, building strengths, and improving negative thought patterns. The therapeutic process can be overwhelming, but I pride myself on working side by side with my clients and their families every step of the way.

My passion for helping humans developed at an early age and only continued to grow as I observed people around me struggle with various issues in life. Over my years in the mental health and substance abuse industry, I have noticed a pattern. It has occurred to me that the stressors of every day life have become unmanageable for human beings and people have forgotten that, “We repeat what we do not repair.” In a world that is constantly changing, lets work together to make changes to improve yourself and your life.

Finding Jessica to be exceptionally respectful/responsive to my needs from the onset of our work together. I have full confidence/faith in knowing that Jessica will provide the support I've been unable to find in the past.

Jessica obviously loves her job. I can tell she finds all aspects of learning about people very interesting. I always feel like she understands what I'm trying to say. She also always remembers details from past sessions. All in all I always feel better after talking with Jessica.

Jessica is amazing. She is very attentive to each thing I mention during our chats and sessions. She is available and responds quickly. We talk about 5 days a week. And she just really tries to understand the core of what I am telling her. We work through things together and she gives me plenty of exercises to do so. I attribute these things, in addition to my efforts, to the significant amount of progress I have made in the past 5-6 months with Jessica!

I have been in some form of therapy for over 20 years. Over the course of that time I’ve seen more therapists than Charlie Sheen has had 1st dates.

Jessica listens, digests what’s heard, understands and then responds. Her responses and approach to therapy is nothing like I’ve ever experienced. Her therapeutic structure is based on my past, current situation, future goals...and most importantly my personality.

It is in teencounseling.com’s best interest to do whatever needs to be done to ensure she maintains her role as a therapist under your platform. If that becomes the case you’re not only going to be a 1 therapist short, but you will lose a true benefit which teencounseling.com currently offers.
