About Me

Hello, my name is Jennifer and I have been in the counseling field for close to ten years. In that time, I have worked with substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, trauma, intimate partner abuse, and marital and family issues. As a trained marital and family therapist, I take a systemic view of each situation, assessing how individual factors impact the big picture of a person’s life. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma, and experiential therapy. I take a client centered approach to therapy, utilizing whatever interventions are appropriate to the individual. I specialize in trauma, PTSD, and complex childhood trauma as well as women’s issues including self-esteem, body image, codependency, self-harm, and intimate partner abuse. My work with teenagers primarily consists of adolescents entering the justice system. I work with them to help them make better choices for their futures by addressing behavioral issues as well as issues of addiction, self-harm, and negative peer relationships.

JENNIFER IS A VERY COMPETENT THERAPIST WHO IS ALWAYS READY TO LISTEN, EVEN WHEN I AM TALKING ON AND ON! SHE OFFERS THE SUPPORT I NEED AND PROVIDES SPECIFIC COUNSEL THAT I CAN APPLY TO MY SITUATIONS. JENNIFER IS FRIENDLY, EASY TO TALK WITH AND BE HONEST WITH. I FEEL THAT TOGETHER, I CAN FACE AND RESOLVE THE ISSUES I FACE.

My kid doesn't talk to anyone and she likes her.

I really feel like Jennifer takes a person-centred approach, but also finds the shared humanity between herself and her clients. I have never felt judged by Jennifer, even when I'm struggling not to judge myself. I have no doubt that my improved well-being in recent months is due in part to her support.

Jennifer is a patient, positive, supportive counsellor with an IMPRESSIVE resume. You would be in good hands if you worked with her. She has helped me with some decades-old baggage and I feel lighter and lighter all the time.

Jennifer has helped me over a challenging few months where my eating disorder flared up. She has helped me to start to instigate a more intuitive approach to my eating, as well as helping me to breakdown my thought patterns.
If I have issues in the future I would definitely come back to Jennifer
