I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Virginia. I've been providing services in private practice since 2013 and really enjoy working with military families, teens, and those in the LGBTQ community.
Finding balance in the lives we lead is essential to leading healthy lives. Sometimes in the everyday stress of daily life, it's difficult to find that balance. As a therapist, I work with clients to help them find the best treatment plan for their individual problems. In my experience, a collaborative approach works best for most treatment plans. My approach utilizes mostly Narrative therapy, Structural therapy, and Solution-focused therapy, and most of the treatment plans I collaborate with include psychosocial education and some lifestyle changes.
As a marriage and family therapist, I've done extensive work with families. Working with families who have teens gives me the opportunity to help parents understand that their children are slowly separating from them. It can be a struggle to find the right balance for families with teens, but it's a natural part of family growth. Teens develop into healthy young adults with support from their parents.
I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, trauma, and domestic abuse. My educational background from Capella University includes a Master's degree in Marriage and Family therapy as well as a Master's degree in Psychology. Having completed an active duty tour in the Air Force, and then serving as an Air Force spouse for nineteen years, I have a unique understanding of military culture. As a parent, I understand how difficult it is to manage professional time versus personal time.
I look forward to working with you!

Jennifer was so helpful to our family. What looked to us like an issue of teenage lying turned out to be a case of ADHD that Jennifer helped us diagnose. We are so grateful for her insight and support.
Ms. Dattilo Watts is amazing. I have had therapists in the past but never anyone who better understood me or gave me more valuable suggestions.
I had a great experience with Jennifer as my counselor! She learned which style of counseling best suited me and within in a few sessions I made great progress. Very attentive and follows up in between sessions. Would highly recommend her as a counselor
Best therapist ever!
Very personable and gets to the crux of the issue. Highly recommend
Jennifer is amazing and was cheery and kind when I needed it most. She's a great listener and had awesome resources for the stress I was dealing with. Definitely a calm presence when I needed it the most.
Jennifer is a kind and understanding person. She doesn't make me feel silly or embarrassed for bringing up certain topics, and is able to joke and laugh with me during our sessions. She's become like a friend that I talk to once a week and gives me advice.
I can’t say a single negative thing about Jennifer. I have been to a number of therapist in my lifetime, but Jennifer is the only one I have stuck with the longest. She listens. She’s interested. She asks clarifying questions to truly understand my concerns and she helps me breakdown complex issues into small pieces that enable me to manage stress better. Talking to Jennifer makes me feel like it’s okay to be myself and work through my thoughts and emotions productively.
I will be very sad when the time with Jennifer comes to an end. I am blessed to have been paired with her.
Jennifer has been wonderful to talk to. I love her input and advice.
I loved working with Jennifer! She spent the energy to get to know me extremely fast, so we could jump right into counseling. She was always replying to me within a reasonable amount of time, and was always on time for her appointments. I greatly recommend!
Jennifer is the best! During a weird time of pandemic stress, she swooped in and helped me process a lot of stuff. I’m so grateful!!
I appreciate Jennifer’s patience with me (I talk nonstop at this point). I am looking forward to getting her advice and moving forward in my life.
Jennifer is a kind and compassionate person. As a therapist she understands that a one size fits all approach isn’t the best and takes the time to listen, provide recommendations, and follows up to find out what works for you.
Jennifer was very comforting and supportive, which was especially important as a newbie to therapy. I like her tailored approach and willingness to be flexible if one approach or another did not work best for me!
Jennifer has an awesome personality, and is great to work with. She has been super helpful, really knows what she's talking about, and has been the most patient. 10/10
Jennifer is thoughtful and prompt in responding to my messages. She has excellent insight into treating trauma. I have really appreciated her support.
Very happy Jennifer was the first person I was able to talk to on this site.
Jennifer is a great listener!
Jennifer has been so kind, thoughtful and caring throughout my first few weeks. I will definitely continue on this journey to absolute clarity, and that has a lot to do with Jennifer as my counselor.
Jennifer is great. She puts herself in your shoes and doesn’t judge. She’s a great listener.
