About me

I am a licensed professional counselor and registered art therapist with experience with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. I have provided counseling and art therapy services to various community non-profit organizations and schools in the DFW area. I have worked with clients with a wide array of concerns including stress and anxiety, depression, family conflict, relationship issues, trauma, and anger management.

When I'm not providing counseling services through Better Help or at the school I work for, I love to draw/paint/write, watch movies, spend time with my family, and read a really good book. I really enjoy nature and being outside - I sometimes have delusions that I can keep plants alive, so I dabble in gardening too.

My counseling style is relaxed and collaborative. I see my clients as the "driver" and myself as the "navigator" during the counseling process. I work with my clients to identify goals for treatment and action plans to help them reach their goals in a kind and compassionate manner. My approach blends strengths-based, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and art therapy methods. I customize how I approach my clients so that I best meet their needs. I also often give clients "homework" to extend what we have discussed/discovered in our sessions. This could be in the form of practicing a particular skill, a journal prompt, or an art activity.

Reaching out for help with life's struggles takes a lot of courage. If you are ready to begin this journey, I am here to support, encourage, and guide you.

I look forward to working with you!

Jenni is a great counselor. She has really helped me change my life. Discussing my worries with my loved ones can be a challenge for me, but talking with Jenni feels like talking with my own conscience. She never tells you what’s “right” or “wrong,” rather, she helps you look inside yourself to figure out what you need. She has helped me using art projects and metaphorical discussion that really relates to me and helps me open up. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to find the courage to overcome their struggles.

Jennifer has been fantastic! In other counseling experiences the therapist's responses have felt rote or obvious. I have frequently left other therapists feeling like I could have asked myself the same questions. Jennifer always has an insight that I never would have thought of. In a matter of days I felt like I had made some progress down a healthier road, even if the road is a pretty long one.

Jenni has been an amazing counselor for these past several months. I really feel like she's given me appropriate strategies and tools to manage my severe anxiety to the point where I rarely ever have it. I truly have never felt so understood by a counselor before. I look forward to each session because I know I always walk away feeling capable of overcoming whatever difficulties that lay ahead of me. Thanks to Jenni, I finally feel like I am learning how to become the collected and capable young adult I've been striving to be.

Jennifer provided me with the tools I needed to attain a healthy mindset in what I would consider the worst period of my life. It was easy to connect to her and her counsel was very effective. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is in need of help.
