About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida with over ten years’ experience in mental health and behavioral counseling. I have worked with individuals ages 6 to adult with variety of presenting issues including anxiety, depression, anger management, relationship and family challenges, school/career concerns, stress management, parenting dynamics and life transitions.

I have provided individual and family therapy in variety of settings including in-home, office and community-based services such as school and other community locations. I have worked with teens and their families with varying intensities from concerns relating to school or family, prevention services to avoid placement juvenile justice system and within residential services for youth with a history of criminal or other anti-social behaviors. When working with families, I have described my approach as a kind of family mediation to meet the needs of both the teenager and adult being supportive to both but not taking a side.

My approach is to be sensitive and respectful for multi/cross-cultural factors. My belief is our background and who we are can be sources of strength to bring about positive changes in our lives. I appreciate the differences and work towards fostering healthy and open line of communication. To achieve this goal our sessions will be a judgement free zone. Therapy sessions should be a place where a person feels safe and comfortable to share their thoughts, feelings, experiences, etc. without fear of being criticized or judged. Open communication is not only encouraged, but essential to work towards the improvement you seek in your life.

Change is a process that can be undertaken any stage of your life to make things better. Just because today does not align with how you want things to be, does not reflect how a future tomorrow can be. To this end I am here to support and empower you to take one step toward that brighter future.

If you like what you have read so far, feel free to contact me for a consultation at your convenience. We can discuss your concerns and work towards you and your teenager reaching a happier, healthier and more fulfilling life.

Jason is a great councellor, and I look forward to our sessions every week. If for some reason we have to skip one, my whole week gets thrown off. He makes you feel like you are speaking with a friend, not that he's there's just doing his job. I've had councellor in the past that made me feel like I was just a way of making money, and they didn't seem to care or even seem like they were listening. Jason listens to me, and never makes me feel like my concerns or problems are silly. I am very blessed that he accepted me as a client. I HIGHLY recommend him.

Jason understands my issues, and instead of telling me outright, he lets me come to the conclusions and presents different ideas that may help me. Jason is a very good match for me.
