Experience: I have been working to inspire hope and change in individuals from all backgrounds, orientations, and cultures, through education, one-on-one and group counseling, personal and community advocacy. Over the years, I’ve worked with those affected by trauma, loss, domestic violence, abuse, addictions, depression, anxiety, marriage and family challenges, learning and physical disabilities, anger management, major life crises, and a broad spectrum of mental illness. I am what is called an eclectic therapist, supporting adults, teens, children, families, and groups. I utilize what we refer to as person-centered (Rogerian), cognitive-behavioral (CBT) strategies to empower clients to be the change they want to see, often in the context of being able to fulfill your purpose in life (Adlerian). According to your needs, we may use meditation, scripture, poetry, music, art, movement, drama, play therapy, and more, to aid in bringing about that change. Finally, I focus on equipping clients with psycho-educational tools and resources for a lifetime of continued growth, long after you have discontinued counseling. Let’s start this journey together.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jamilah Bowden. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Jamilah is an amazing counselor. She is a great listener, and she's great at evaluating what your true needs and wants are. She is always positive and creates an environment that makes it easy for you to talk to her and open up. I am so happy that i’ve been able to work with Jamilah.
I couldn’t have asked for a better consoler. Before this, I had never done any form of therapy and was very terrified and nervous to begin. I felt like she understood me and I genuinely look forward to each and every session. I know I am in good hands when talking to her.
Jamilah Bowden came into my life at the perfect time. I've had other counselors that just didn't feel as connected as Jamilah is. I like the fact that I can message her whenever and know that she will respond with just the right comments and advice. It feels like she truly cares about the success and moments of weaknesses. Her words are comforting, caring, and powerful. I am so thankful to have discovered her,
I have been working with Jamilah for a few weeks now and I absolutely love her! She is caring and very attentive. She is very knowledgeable and always gives me things to work on throughout the week. I like how she asks me questions to get my mind to rolling and it helps me to get the most out of our sessions! I am super happy I chose her, and would highly recommend her!
Jamilak is committed to helping me. She is cheery and supportive everytime we meet, whether that is on the phone or through a video session.
Jamilah has already helped me tremendously. She’s very kind, patient and knowledgable. I am going to continue booking sessions with her.
Just started with Jamilah and I can already see that we are going to get along. She listens and provided a lot of good food for thought. I appreciated her willingness to work with me and my schedule. 5/5 stars if you ask me!
Jamilah is a tremendously gifted counselor with a heart for her client. Her sessions with me have changed my life and helped me to process needed changes in my life within just a few months.
She is a great listener but also someone who interacts and gives feedback that is greatly needed. She makes me feel at ease.
This is my first time talking to someone and I think Jamilah is great and a very good fit. I feel very comfortable sharing things with her, which has been hard for me in the past with other people. She is very helpful with her insight and advice that I have received from her.
