About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arkansas, and I have been practicing for over 8 years now. I spent over half of that time working in day-treatment and outpatient settings focused on children and teens. I have worked with clients with a variety of needs including managing anxiety and depression, addressing family dynamics in terms of parent divorce and children who have been in the foster care system. I have been certified in EMDR to address trauma and abuse, with a focus on teens.
My counseling style is relaxed and solutions focused. I believe that everyone that has taken the first step to enter into counseling deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and to feel that their voice is heard and their needs are being addressed. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, client centered and solution focused therapy to identify where each client is when they enter counseling and to meet them there to begin the process of change and growth. When working with teens taking the family dynamics into consideration is key and I like to work to include family, while still allowing the client to feel like they have a strong voice in their own therapy journey.

It takes courage to seek out treatment for a loved one and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and encourage you along the way.
I look forward to working with you!

Jamie makes me feel heard and understood. She offers realistic solutions to problems that can be solved outside of talking, and talks through what can’t be. She is very grounded and helpful.

Have been working with Jamie for few months and so far it has been great. She always checks in when she has time and respond to my message in a timely matter. Most importantly she is punctual with time and hardly ever need to reschedule.

Jamie is wonderful. She validates my experiences and offers small things I can do as homework that have a huge impact in my life. And her humor genuinely helps me relax while we're talking and put things into perspective.

Jamie is wonderful: attentive, receptive, quick to respond, kind, and intelligent. She has helped me so much through a difficult period of my life and always has a variety of times available for appointments that always fit my schedule. She is well-informed and compassionate, providing therapy that is insightful and considerate. She is also easy to relate to and we often find ourselves laughing during sessions! I cannot recommend Jamie highly enough; she is wonderful.

I have been working with Jamie for over a year and it has been so lovely to have someone to hear me out after a tough week. She is a great listener (and has brilliant book recommendations too)! I feel very grateful to be in a better place than when I started therapy and look forward to seeing how I cope on my own now. Thank you Jamie!!

I don’t know where we would be without Jamie’s guidance, compassion and empathy. My daughter has a psychiatrist that referred us to teen counseling, so that, my daughter could talk to a therapist. When going through this process of trying to find a therapist and explaining my daughters behaviors. Most responses I received were she needs to be Inpatient or Institutionalized. Jamie was the first counselor that didn’t think my daughter needed to be institutionalized due to behaviors she exhibits from anxiety and depression. Jaime has helped my daughter have better thoughts about herself and life in general. I can’t say enough about her!

She was unresponsive and seems to not take this job seriously. I was in urgent need of therapy and on the first day already, she was not responding to my messages.

Work with me!
