Hello, my name is Frankie McKelvin. I am licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) from the SC Board for Labor Licensing Regulations (SCLLR), License #7124. I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA). My clients vary from different cultural and diverse backgrounds. The clients with whom I work are psychologically and emotionally healthy and are seeking counseling for challenges arising from difficult life events. Some clients are facing more difficulties than others. However, I do not take on clients whom I cannot help using the techniques and knowledge I have available to me, or in areas that I am not trained in. I work with all individuals in life stages from adolescence through late senior years, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, or handicap. I have had the pleasure of working with teens in parenting, ADHD, suicidal prevention, bullying/cyber-bullying, body image, and depression.
In order for a client to be successful, the counseling experience includes active involvement in the process, as well as my own. Collaboratively, we will work to resolve your concerns and, hopefully, to improve the quality of your emotional life. You will be asked to apply yourself during and between sessions on a weekly basis. There may be homework assignments, including journaling, thinking about certain topics related to your situation, or completing other appropriate projects. All of these tasks are geared towards helping you to achieve the goals that we have identified for you in counseling.
I take an educational approach to helping clients with their concerns and my counseling is based on these philosophies: Adlerian Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy.

Frankie is really wonderful, she listens very well and offers good advice/options. I enjoy speaking with her.
Frankie brings an ease to the therapy space. She has an inviting and welcoming presence which is so important when unpacking tough things of life.
Frankie has been a wonderful, supportive therapist, and I'm so glad to have been paired with her. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone. You will be heard, you will be valued, and you will be treated with respect (with plenty of encouraging smiles along the way). Thank you, Frankie, for being great!
Although I’ve only met with Frankie twice since discovering teen counseling, her time and support with acknowledging my personal concerns and strategizing to improve my mental health has been invaluable. I’m a high-achiever by nature and thus I’m at risk for becoming overwhelmed and stressed because I tend not to set definitive boundaries. Speaking with Frankie has brought insight to this and has helped me to feel centered with meaningful and practical ways to honor myself while I’m working on outer goals. My sessions with Frankie help me to feel grounded and to know that I have continuous mental support as I work towards my achieving my goals. She’s more than a therapist, Frankie’s a guide on my side.
Thank you Frankie, blessings!
Frankie really listens and creates a safe environment to be very open and engages directly with issues she sees. She is trustworthy and very attentive to details and needs. I would recommend her absolutely.
Frankie, is the utmost professional, kind, and patient counselor. She understands that relationship building is the vehicle to trust and healing. So grateful for her.
We haven't had a chance to really work with Frankie much yet but she seems to be very caring and eager to help. She is definitely a very patient and kind individual.
Frankie is very caring and offers good advice! She is very easy to talk to, and feels very easy to confide in.
Frankie is a fantastic therapist. She is always calm and inviting, asks insightful questions that don't push but open up doors for meaningful conversation and she offers great tools. I really appreciate her ability to tease out the buried lede. Frankie's laugh is also really beautiful and it means a lot to me that we can share laughter. Thank you Frankie and teen counseling!
Frankie's strength is her ability to really listen and to have immense understanding and empathy with her clients. She is a solid believer and brings her faith straight into the counselling through prayer, scripture and unique Christian insight. She is a true gem and a true ambassador of Christ. I hope she continues to shine.
Lovely to talk to and made my first experience with therapy feel so comfortable and open. Highly skilled with dealing with sensitive cultural issues.
Frankie is an excellent listener and she brings a warm friendly charm to counseling. She makes me think, reflect, and her questioning methods have me really digging deep into my personal mental health. I feel like my sessions with her have been instrumental in my overall well-being and growth.
Frankie has changed how I feel about the idea of therapy. I came into this skeptical but I feel as though so much progress has been made that would have taken me months alone. Frankie is excellent and I highly recommend her.
She is kind and supportive. She was always available when I needed help and made me feel heard. It has been a delight to work with her. Thank you for all the assistance Frankie.
So far, everything has been great!
Having Frankie as my counselor is an absolute pleasure. She is attentive and relatable. She listens to my concerns and helps me work through any issues I am currently struggling with.
Frankie helps me talk out all of my issues and come to conclusion on my own. This is very helpful way for me to cope, as it helps me come to the end point on my own and helps me deal with the day to day when we are not in session. Frankie listens and is always very helpful!
She is never judge mental and always responds with helpful and affirmative actions.
Frankie is amazing and I would recommend her to anyone seeking help in any form.

Frankie is great. She listens to what I say, and gives great feedback. Doesn’t come on too strong, and definitely builds rapport before trying Aly other therapy.
