About me

As a counselor, I specialize in working with people going through difficult Life Transitions. As humans beings, we all experience periods in our lives that involve a lot of changes, and high stakes decision making. At times, these changes and the decisions involved, can make us feel very overwhelmed, and leave us with a sense that we have been thrown off balance. Some examples of life transitions include; the end of a relationship or a close friendship, a new school or class environment, as well as the transition into adulthood that starts during the teenage years.
The uncertainty present during a new life stage can often create stress, as well as feelings of disappointment, shame, sadness, and grief. If you are going through a period of growth and transition in your life , and you want support with managing the emotional growing pains. I am here to help.

I work with clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. My approach to therapy is collaborative as well as cognitive behavioral. As we work together we will be looking at any road blocks that may be the root causes of your current struggles. These roadblocks can be at a conscious level and you are able to identify them easily, but are having difficulties figuring out how to get around them. These roadblocks can also be at an unconscious level. Exploring and discovering them during counseling will help you see the road blocks more clearly. Only when you see something clearly, and your role in it, will you then be able to start taking the actions to transform it.

I bit about my background, I finished my graduate school studies in Psychology at Columbia University in New York City in 2003, and later specialized in working with teenagers and families. I also completed additional post graduate training in Wellness Counseling at Cornell University.

The teen years are challenging no doubt, but they are also a time full of wonder and opportunity ! I am here to help you take care of your mental health, and to navigate through the social and emotional growing pains. The goal is for you to move through, grow and overcome your current struggles, so you start a new chapter in your life with ease and confidence.

You can see my current availability to book a session. Looking forward to connecting with you and your family.
