About me
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist and I absolutely love working with teens and their parents. I have many years of experience supporting teens manage all the issues they face in adolescence (i.e. bullying, drugs/alcohol, family and other interpersonal conflict, dating, sexuality, identity formation, school challenges, social skills issues, etc...) and all the associated feelings connected with these experiences. I enjoy supporting teens and offer them a safe place to share openly in a non-judgmental, strengths based and unbiased atmosphere. Being a teenager is a time of individuation with so many inherent challenges and also a wonderful time to have a guide outside of the family to help the teen with identity and positive self-esteem as they navigate all the growth that happens in this stage of life. I have spent many years assisting teens in managing emotions, developing positive coping strategies, deepening relationships with others and navigating conflicts in their lives while fostering improved self-esteem.
My style is direct, nurturing and down to earth. I bring an engaged and authentic presence to each session. I have seen, throughout my experience, how much positive change can occur when the optimal support is available, and I will routinely offer that to all my clients. It is with empathy, compassion, humility, experience, training and skill that I offer my clients a therapeutic relationship and tools for working through their struggles. Each person is unique with their own specific needs and I tailor my approach dependent upon those needs.
My goal is to provide my clients with tools needed so they can live a happier and healthier life!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Erica Smith Jimenez. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Erica listens, let's me express my feelings.
Is gentle while very insightful with suggestions.
Very sweet and helpful! Just getting to know her, but she is like a friend!
She is so great and helpful and very caring
I felt very comfortable sharing my concerns with Erica.
She is a great person.
I think Erica is very understanding. She allows you to express yourself but keeps your train on the track. I appreciate that at the end of each session, she lets me know what we are going to work on next session yet if there is something important that comes up, she encourages you to talk about whatever you need to. Really like her, good therapist for sure!
In just the short amount of time I've worked with Erica my babies my mood and my life have taken a 180. She has helped me to create healthy boundaries in my relationships which has helped Mr to be the best version of myself. She is supportive yet challenges any cognitive distortions I may present. I'm truly grateful for the work and progress I have made with her!
We feel so lucky that we found Erica after trying someone else that didn't work out. She's been a great fit for me and my husband! Erica is compassionate, a great listener and her suggestions have been so helpful. We feel very supported and respected. Our faith in the couples counseling process has been restored.
Erica is so kind and really helps me see things in a different way. She’s been encouraging and understanding and I look forward to meeting with her every week! She’s also been so flexible with my schedule
Erica is wonderful! Patient, understanding and gives wonderful advice :)
really understanding, listen and gives the right feedback.
Erica has been wonderfully patient and effective in listening to what's been going on in my day-to-day and helping to identify issues and suggest ways to improve my quality of life. I was honestly had some trepidations about online therapy before meeting her, but Erica has been nothing but excellent. Highly recommend.
Erica is a wonderful therapist and I highly recommend her. Part me of doesn’t want to write this review because I don’t want her schedule to fill up and then my domestic partner and I can’t see her if we want to attend therapy again in the future, lol. She was able to build a very strong therapeutic alliance with us, which is crucial for therapy to be successful. She was able to help my partner and I work through some of our toughest strongholds. While working with her, my partner and I were able to build a stronger sense of trust in one another, our communication has gotten a lot better, and we’re closer then we have ever been. We’re truly grateful for her. We were on the verge of breaking up when we first started seeing her but she was able to help us work through our differences and we’re now really happy because our relationship is thriving. However, we’re sad that we’re at the point that we no longer need therapy at this time, so we won’t be seeing her weekly anymore. She’s truly a blessing and is one of the best therapists I have worked with.
I am a person that has participated in several different kinds of therapy and therapists and have never seemed to enjoy it until I met Erica. She always makes sure to listen attentively and asks appropriate follow up questions. She also helps me by being relatable and a fun human being to talk to. I most definitely recommend talking to her!
Erica is amazing!! Gives helpful tools to help manage my anxiety, really listens and remembers what we’ve talked about. I feel very understood!
She is great and very knowledgeable!
Erica is very knowledgeable in her space and at the same time she is very authentic and caring in her approach. She made it very easy for me to share my thoughts and her non-judgemental and respectful comments, helped me to share all my thoughts and open up easily to her. She has been a great help during the last 6 months as I had to navigate and make tough decisions in life.
She is professional yet personal, with all your intimate thoughts...I feel supported and heard.
We've had a great time building a relationship with Erica and look forward to growing that in the future.
She is wonderful! Erica does a great job with my child whom recently lost his Mom.
Thanks Erica
Erica is currently helping me with my wifes recent passing. She always had our best interests both at heart and truely allowed room for my wifes growth before her passing. It was one of the main reasons I was able to spend my last days with her as we shouldve been, together and happy. Because of this im eternally grateful to her and her work.
Very sweet, open minded, fair and thought provoking. Everything a therapist should be.
She is awesome!
Erica has been integral in my healing and personal growth journey thur far. She allows me to share freely and provides great insight into situations that are difficult for me to navigate. Erica creates a safe space where I feel comfortable to express what I’m feeling and she helps me dig into those feelings more so that I feel more equipped to deal with them. I look forward to our sessions every week as I always leave feeling better and with a refreshed encouraging perspective.
Erica is extremely knowledgeable. She doesn’t just hear what I am saying, but truly listens. She provides specific feedback and doesn’t give blanket statements. I greatly appreciate her sense of care and ending our sessions on a neutral or positive note rather than when our time is up. I am lucky to have found her and recommended her highly!
