About me
Hello! My name is Emily Myers and I am a licensed professional clinical counselor through the state of Ohio. I have over 14 years in the counseling profession and over 20 years of work experience in customer service or a helping occupation. I graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. I taught preschool for a few years and decided to go back for my Master's in Community Counseling from the same university. I graduated in 2009 summa cum laude. Since then, I have held a variety of positions in the counseling field including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, children and family centered jobs. My last job was at a children's and teen only agency. I truly enjoyed working with the teenage population, and tend to develop a good rapport with that age group. I tend to have an eclectic approach to counseling based on what the client is wanting from the services. I use a lot of client centered, solution focused, and cognitive behavioral techniques. My sessions are always client driven with what the client is wanting to discuss or work on at that time. I'm excited to have this opportunity to work with you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Emily Myers. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Emily has been great. We are developing a healthy and helpful client/therapist relationship.
Great therapist. Excellent listener and has excellent suggestions. Highly recommend.
I am so happy to have found Emily. She has been so helpful and supportive! I really look forward to our meetings.
Emily Myers is awesome! She gives me tools to feel empowered when my anxiety and depression rears its head. Since I started my teen counseling therapy, I rarely have to take Xanax for panic attacks anymore. Emily has helped me with my procrastination at work and at home. She has helped me improve my relationship with my sister, and I feel more confident when I one on one meetings with my boss. 5 out of 5 stars!
Emily is wonderful! I feel so blessed to have her as my therapist. She is kind understanding and very knowledgeable. Thank you very much for having the service. It has been so good for me.
Emily has been my saving grace. I was really struggling when I first saw her. I can usually pull myself out of a funk, but this time I was really stuck. It just took a couple of sessions with her to help me feel better and teen counseling my footing. She is kind and caring, but not afraid to tell me when I'm being ridiculous (in not so many words :) ). She has been so helpful to me!
Emily really hears me when I talk. There's no judgement and in her responses she's mindful, understanding and compassionate. She never pushes me beyond comfort and is always so genuine in our conversations. I cannot recommend her enough. Working with her only a relatively short time, she has already helped me in many ways and I am forever grateful.
Emily has been great and has worked with me on everything I have asked her to. She offers resources and ways to work on things that have been very helpful to me.
I feel so comfortable with Emily. She respects my boundaries, but also challenges me. I feel understood, and related to. My previous experiences have been awful, this is the first time I’ve felt at ease with someone.
Emily is the best. Wonderful to speak with. And she checks in often and let’s me know she’s there to support if needed.
Emily Myers is very caring and skilled at her job. She is great with follow up and staying in touch with her patients. Highly recommend her.
Emily has been great so far. Supportive, with thoughtful suggestions. Our video sessions have felt productive, and our messaging between sessions has been helpful too.
She is wonderful and does such a fantastic job of listening as well as giving practical advice.
I think it’s a little early for this survey, but my initial interactions have been helpful. I definitely have hope for a healthier mental and emotional future. We’ve barely begun to scratch the surface though.
Emily is conscientious, and does well at not moving into a conversation beyond my comfort level. She has been kind and encouraging. She offers alternatives, but isn’t judgmental.
Working with Emily was extremely helpful. I really appreciate how we can check in using the app, which encouraged me to keep up with journaling and other processes.
I feel like ive finally found a therapist that really understands me and gives me space to talk about anything
I’ve been to therapy prior but didn’t really feel as though I ever made lasting progress—it was all very fleeting. I really appreciate Emily’s client centered approach, as this truly is the basis of her therapy style. It allowed me to ask for help to understand things I was really struggling with. I appreciate Emily’s kind approach even if she was holding me accountable or challenging my thoughts/processes. Anyone would be lucky to have Emily within their care team—she’s fantastic!
Emily is kind and understanding in a way that is not only non judgmental but also not condescending. I’m glad to have her as a therapist!
Excellent. Structure. Timely.
Emily Myers (LPCC, MSEd) is spot on and gives the best advice. She really know how to reframe what I have have told her to help me understand and see more clearly.
Emily is amazing!
Currently it is still pretty early on but so far Emily has been great. She responded timely, and even reaches out on her own. After just a few exchanges between us she was already giving me tools to help control my temper. So far 10/10!
