About me

I am licensed in Connecticut with 30 years of professional work experience as a school counselor and as a therapist in private practice. I have worked with many young people struggling with family issues, school problems, and conflicts with friends. I enjoy interacting with kids and teens, and I believe in treating them with honesty, and respect for their privacy. We can work together to create a place which allows for sharing of feelings while also keeping in mind the role of caregivers in the lives of young people, with appropriate boundaries for all concerned.
Taking the first step to finding that safe place takes courage, and you have already done that by reaching out here. I hope to be able to meet you and to support you in that process.

My wife and I have only had a couple sessions with Elizabeth, but we’ve already noticed how easily she helps us to communicate and how well she listens and gives both of us a focus when asking questions.

Elizabeth is a great listener who takes whatever is the theme in the conversation very seriously, and at the same time she has the ability to soften the pain and make sense out of difficult things. Her compassionate way of talking is the doorway to accept and be with the truth.

Betsy is an incredible therapist. In my case, she made a sincere effort to understand my situation, and maybe me feel heard and acknowledged. She provides a very unique and helpful perspective on issues, and has helped me work through some very tough obstacles. I feel like she truly cares about me as a person, taking a lot of time to get to know me and even leveraging helpful exercises to help me get to know my self on a deeper level. I highly recommend her!
