In working as a licensed counselor, I strive to bring a blend of experience, energy, compassion, concern, and education to the counseling process, in working with those I serve. I have worked with children, adults, couples, and families for over 10 years. I have years of experience with mental and behavioral health, as well as substance abuse. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Charleston Southern University and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia Southern University. I am currently a Licensed Processional Counselor in Georgia and a National Board Certified Counselor. I have worked as a Therapist and also served as a Clinical Director, providing counseling and treatment on both an outpatient and inpatient level. I have overseen a youth program working with over 250 children and adolescents daily. I also currently serve as a mentor and volunteer for youth in my surrounding communities and church.
I would describe my approach in counseling as one that is client centered and individualized, filled with empathy and compassion. I am also direct and work with my clients to help them achieve their goals. I work from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach, but also utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I like to focus on client’s strengths and help build upon that to deal with crisis situations or any past trauma that one may be working through.
On a personal note, I was raised in South Carolina, so I love the water and seafood, as my own personal ways to unwind. I am also married and my husband serves in the military.
I look forward to working with you and helping you to achieve your goals and grow to better love yourself.

Ms Donna is respectful, polite, positive, and aware of the pitfalls that I face. She is also gentle in her suggestions as she guides me in the right direction.
Donna has made me feel comfortable from the first day I have spoken to her. I feel she understands me better than myself and makes me reflect on why I’m feeling the way I’m feeling. With the support of Donna, I’m on my way to a brighter future.
Exceptionally insightful and great at both holding space and I'm a problem solving context! Couldn't recommend highly enough :)
Donna is very caring and attentive. She is the best counsellor amongst the few we have tried. Would highly recommend someome.as Donna to help myself and.my daughter through these tough times. Thank you Donna
Donna is very attentive to my needs and offered me an approach to work on my goals. When I get distracted by other drama in my life, she was able to gently bring me back to the goal we were working on. After we were done making a plan for that goal, she reintroduced the drama that was bothering me and we figured out an approach to deal with it. I approach how focus and mindful she is.
Donna has been great! I feel very comfortable sharing with her and look forward to continuing to work with her.
Donna is the second counsellor I have been assigned to since starting on teen counseling. She replies in a timely manner and has helped me set realistic goals toward reaching a better place mentally. She offers good advice and support, and manageable steps and tools for use in my journey.
My wife and I decided to give online couples counseling a go after finding traditional methods weren’t all that suited to our busy working and parenting lifestyle. Our counselor Donna Kemp has been amazing! We both feel she’s listened to us and given us the confidence to step out of our comfort zone to deal with problems that are easy to avoid. She is encouraging without being pushy. We’ve both responded very well to her and her methods and look forward to continuing on with Donna. Highly recommend!
